19 pence closer to paying off the mortgage!

I've got a little "series" of two ebooks (and a huge list of names in a notepad) which are collections of short biographies I wrote about various women in history :) I have plans for a third book, but the first two came out a few years ago and since then buying a house and getting married took up all my attention, so I've fallen out of the habit of doing a bit of research and writing every night. Need to get back in to it.

sounds fascinating- I have no creative bones whatsoever

  • Good morning, all:coffee:

Last lap for making money and reaching the 1000 target (that's posts not ££££££s:rotfl:)

Going to drive a friend to pick up 2 cats that she's rehoming from a rescue centre today. Her husband is on a residential course at the other end of the country and needed the car:(. She's had no end of trouble finding a pair of cats to be rehomed together and I managed to locate these for her. She's delighted and wants to pay me something but I've said no and really mean it. These cats will have a loving home, a happy ending where cats are concerned is all I want:j. Maybe I'll let her take me out for lunch sometime but that's all!

  • Well not much money making for me in the last few days. Am almost ready for doing my first payment to circle on prolific so that will start me off for September.

Some great amounts made this month and great to see a few more regular faces. :D Keep up the good work everyone. :j

My last addition is £3.50 for tips. There is a lot going on at work with personality clashes and general "office politics". Hoping things will settle down soon. :(

Anyway its September tomorrow........one of my favourite months of the year. :D

Morning all. For those of you who do surveys, does anyone do Newvista? It's one where you have to get up to £50 before you get paid and surveys aren't necessarily numerous. The surveys tend to be medium type of length and similarish to YouGov (but topics not quite as interesting).

Just wondering on opinions as to whether this one is worth the effort or not. I am on the fence a bit but wondering if I will just cash out this time and then give up. Interested on opinions on this.

I don't know about anyone else, but I definitely lose motivation throughout the month. The first 2 weeks I do as many surveys and money making activities as I can and then slow a bit in the 3rd week and almost give up at the end. I definitely lose a bit of steam, so having a monthly target works quite well for me.

I have gained a bit of momentum in the last few days as I have transferred my earnings into a separate account so I can see them and then can purposefully put it towards something I need/mortgage repayments. Psychologically it makes me feel better as I specifically know what it has gone towards.

Looking forward to more money making in September. Need to do as much as possible before I go back to work in Jan and have significantly less time to do surveys etc. So much I need to save for and mortgage to pay down before then!

I meant both :) I have looked at inline skates that you can change the wheels for ice skates. He wants to learn to ice skate but I cannot take him on the ice. I have a fractured ankle and a metal plate. drs have told me never to iceskate or roller skate again.

someone told me inline skates are better for balance on both ground and ice, so that is what I am looking for for him.

I think its good for him to be an all rounder, as when older can do so many different things.

I think you are right about the balance. All mine found inline skates easier which surprised me as you would think traditional skates would be easier to balance on.

It does sound interesting. I have always fancied writing but don't suppose I will ever do anything about it although my life story would read like a soap opera so maybe I should give it a try :rotfl:

Hi QJ, it took me about 12 months to cash out on Newvista, maybe I wasn't a good match for their surveys and you will have better luck. But I was pleased when I received £50 :T

That's nice CBC. I have just been having a 'conversation' with one of our cats. He is a talker but the other one hardly makes a sound
