  • Thanks Greenbee.

I did some of the tomatoes with breakfast this morning, I don't mind them halved and microwaved. Hadn't thought of soup with the carrots, will put some bread on shortly so anyone who appears in search of food can have soup and bread. I shall make some twinks or something while the oven is on for bread later. I could be nice and make a chocolate tray bake for the boy too, given that I now have cocoa and several bars of value chocolate stashed away in the baking tin.
  • 1 x SB voucher ordered, and an hour of tedious done.

Spent yesterday cleaning half of the kitchen. No, its not that big, yes, it is that cluttered. I now only have things out that I will use every day, and I am trying to be ruthless about what is actually in the cupboards too. Need to crack on with the other half today but I'm a bit sore from yesterdays efforts.

Need to buy - wax to redo the worktops and wax polish for the cupboard doors (oak - handmade by OH 5 years ago, neglected by me since).

OH spent the day clearing the garage. He says he was ruthless. There is certainly a lot more light and space, which hopefully means some stuff can move from the house to the garage.

    Don't overdo things.

I've got another 18ft of a big flowerbed to weed/dig over/plant stuff rescued from my brother's garden in, and about 30ft of the narrow bed at the back to do. But I've just discovered that one of my unread library books can't be renewed, so clearly have to prioritise that ;)

It's too hot to be gardening! Clearly you must read book, with a nice glass of something cold.

Started tidying the housekeeping cupboard and found wood wax, unopened so at least not dried out.

Ice maker is working overtime (just read the electricity meter for the first time in months, so I know how much of an indulgence this is...).

Also did my energy switch (have been apathetic, as for just electricity it rarely seems worth the effort).

Good news on the wood wax. I have lots of furniture polish so really do need to polish some furniture at some point...

Better get back to the hammock... these books won't read themselves!

Have you finished your kitchen or did you join greenbee with a book? I need to plant some more salad leaves but that's about it in the garden. My apples should be ready soon though.

I did more on the kitchen JJ, including a good scrub of the fridge, but still have some bits to do. Mostly the hidden ones so it looks better at least.

Did a bit in the Dining Room of Doom too. Why, no matter how hard I try, does it always revert to Doom? It's a general dumping ground, wood store, bike shed and laundry at the moment

Finally made pizza with DS1 tonight so he was pleased. Mozarella out of the freezer, and the last of the open grated cheddar from the newly cleaned fridge, basil from the window ledge.

Haven't done the ironing. Have found school trousers. Have remembered that I have forgotten to pick up branded PE shirt, which I will have to do on Wednesday ready for them going back on Thursday.

Maybe the dining room needs to be used to avoid being a dumping ground?

Yes, we are all guilty of it. Its part of the shuffle round of stuff with the new shed.

Probably not a good person to ask as I am not keen on cooked tomatoes, DS1 doesn't eat onions or anything lumpy, so its very simple: 100ml pasata, tea spoon of sugar, splash of oil, pinch of salt, teaspoon mixed herbs (Morrisons basics for pennies), and half a teaspoon of garlic powder. Low heat till its warm.

How is the F&V growing going?

Rough night, early bath with nice detox oil, and then just lay awake and ached. Throbby throb throb, turn over, throbby throb throb. Listen to the church bells ring out every hour as they have forgotten to turn them off again this week. They are five minutes fast, but not every hour which is mad.

Headache and sore throat this morning so I guess a new delightful cold rather than something fibro specific. I'm doing a full days interviewing which means sitting all day, something I really struggle with on a good day as my joints seize up. Ibuprofen, strepsils and emergency banana all packed up ready.

Anyway, mrs sensible kicked in and I have got a beef in gravy out of the freezer this morning so at least feeding people should be simple.
