I’m with V for TV and broadband, looked into just broadband but it’s nearly the same price on its own 😩 Need to have good broadband for work.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

We tried to move from BeeTee to Vo last time, ended up being cut off for a fortnight and having to have a new land line number due to Vo mistakes. You'd have though the world had ended for the teenagers, and I have to admit I wasn't much better. Limited mobile signal here so free data and a portable WiFi didn't really help.
HHOD, sadly the merino place didn't have any wristwarmers. I want to try some merino ones as they may last longer. Love the cashmere ones but they are expensive and wear out quickly when you wear them a lot. I got a 4 pack of cotton mix ones for £7 on Azn to try which are quite ok really.
Bargain of the week was a trip into the tiny village co-op on school run. Bulbs reduced to 50p a pack and on 3 for 2. I invested £5 and bought lots of crocus, reticulata iris and some purple alliums. All planted out in the front garden today so they are safe from the digging dog. I do love a mass planting of single colour things.
Today I pot roasted a brisket joint for sunday lunch and then cold slices for lunches. I know work will be hideously busy so it gets me off to a good start. Also made this thrifty lesley lentil and peanut butter loaf which used up some tired bits from the veg drawer. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

The lentil loaf was good, although the purple carrots made it an interesting colour. It gave those who constantly graze the fridge something to snack on. I will probably make it again when the oven is on tomorrow, not least because I have 7 red peppers and many carrots to use.

I’ve made that lentil loaf before. My favourite is a nut roast loaf recipe I got from a website called Cheap Family Recipes. It freezes well too. If I can find the recipe I’ll post it for you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

It’s www.cheapfamilyrecipes.co.uk and the recipe is called Nut Roast with bubble and squeak. Sorry my phone isn’t letting me do a hyperlink.

Thanks @Sun_Addict, https://cheapfamilyrecipes.co.uk/nut-roast-with-bubble-and-squeak/ for anyone else who is interested.
I have some walnuts I think, will give it a go. My mother does one with chestnuts that my vegetable eating sibling says is nice.
Last night I made marrons glace using chestnuts we had picked on a walk. I also made a batch with some pre cooked chestnuts (£1.20 from H&B). Needs tweaking to get it quite right but tasty for a first attempt. Always used to bring a box back from France holidays.

A month since I last posted, work is just so busy and something has to give.
Food wise I have made these: https://www.merchant-gourmet.com/recipes/recipe/candied-chestnuts/
Followed the recipe but then gave them a five minute blast in a hot oven to caramelise the coating. V popular with my fellow residents.
