Well done on the F&V eating. I can't wait to have an oven so I can make peanut butter cookies tooIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.

Washed the carpet
Weeds hoed off the veg plot
Watered the polytunnel
Planted out courgette and broad beans
Removed various old plants and weeds from front garden in the sunshine - a green waste bins worth
Weed killer sprayed the paths
Lobelias planted into the drive tubs
Made (and ate) butterbean, chicken and chorizo stew
Collapsed into a gibbering heap. My hands hurt from the secateurs. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese0 -

Well done... particularly on the eating
I need to spray the drive tonight...0 -
Great achieving all round there! I feel your pain on the secateurs - I can't use shears for too long as a time as they put my neck into spasm!
Another vote for bicarb for getting read of unsavoury whiffs - sprinkle onto dry carpet in good quantity, leave sitting for a couple of hours, brush in to the pile with a stiff brush and leave for another couple of hours, hoover up. With Greenbee on buying it in 5kg bags too - chinese supermarkets sell it like that.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'd have collapsed in a gibbering heap 1/3 of the way through that lot
Out of curiosity what did you use on the carpet and did it work??I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I did far too much as usual and my hands and knees are broken today. Have pottered and went out so I resisted temptation to make it worse in the garden although I did do just a little raking but gave up very quickly. Bought lots of reduced cheese in M&S and nice F&V in the big stupidmarket. Dinner will be wine, cheese, wine, salad, wine, crusty bread and variations thereof.
Crystal I used a rug doctor pet stain one which has helped but not removed, with warm water in my elderly vax carpet washer. the Vax branded pet one wasn't much use either. The best saturate and then wash the carpet one was 'simple solution stain remover for dogs' (£18/4 litres) from Amzn - only we had the cat one for mr. feline dementia. I agree with the bicarb suggestions from Greenbee and EH but carpet needs to dry out first - and its stained not just smelly. I suspect its right through to the underlay hence the saturate, soak and wash approach. It does look tons better but I haven't been able to give it another wash today as I can't squeeze the handle on the vax.
Speaking of old cats, we had a very rare visit from deaf old man cat who was stolen by the neighbours. He looks terrible, thin and neglected which is probably his age (16) but he should be checked by a vet. I put some flea drops on him and fed him but its difficult when I see the animal once every few months at most. The others wont tolerate him being in the house now. People just don't think of the harm they do, fuss them by all means but don't feed them. I'll have to keep an eye out for next door which will be a tricky conversation. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese0 -
Sounds like you've had a very busy (but productive) few days.
Hope you get your old cat/neighbours situation sorted. Do you think they haven't been feeding him? They do get scrawny as they get older though.Christmas Savings 2024 £252.38/£600 April NSD:2 April Surveys £0 -
It must be very annoying having cat stealing neighbours.
I don't blame you for having several courses of wine with your meal .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It was just wine and cheese in the end as I can't have bread and I don't really like salad. Was lovely to over indulge.
This morning I went into the big bad city and finally got myself properly measured. New completely different sized underwear fitted and a much improved profile. I used to chuckle at Jilly Cooper /Katie fforde books when the middle aged heroine would go and get herself fitted for new bras and take on a whole new lease of life. Lets hope its true
Tonight was that gourmet delight of sausage, egg, chips and beans and variations thereof.
I'm to buy DS2 some more cheese straws which is a good result. Any variety in his diet is a bonus. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese0
