Pizza worked ok so Ds1 happy and DS2 had garlic pizza bread with the other half of the dough so he was happy too. We had steak from the freezer, with the last of the oven chips and the last of the peas (swirled in the dregs of the old butter tub) so that was ok.

Beef out for pot roast tomorrow and some chicken thighs to cook for me to have for lunch over the next few days as nobody else will willingly eat chicken on the bone and its better than me not bothering at all. I generally don't like soup and just wouldn't make myself eat it. The only good bit about soup is thick crusty bread with too much butter and of course I can't have that.

I forgot to get any more eggs yesterday and we still have no fresh cheddar. I was tempted to nip to the co-op but the idea is to use up what we have so I didn't. Used frozen cheese for the pizza. DS2 ate the last of the bought chocolate cake so I was going to make rocky roads using the dark chocolate I had left over from the g&b tasting box. Far too bitter (even with the butter, syrup and dollop of cream) so I ended up adding a bar of value milk chocolate and melting in some marshmallows, before stirring in rice crispies which was better. It has made a tray of slightly sticky darkish chocolate crispy cakes which will get eaten I am sure, or taken to work by OH. One of those times where actually I would have been better just making the chocolate crispy cakes with the one bar of milk chocolate in the first place.

and now there is too much snow to bother so it will not happen today either. Must check how much milk we have.

'Free' electricity Sunday is in full swing, WM, TD, DW and the oil heater all up and running at 9. I'm sadly still hoarse, snotty and aching so think that will be it for effort today, other than the ironing. I have all week at home anyway to do things :)

Do you have an immersion heater? If so, heat an extra tank of hot water for free and have a long soak in the bath. And boil lots of free water for extra cups of tea.
  • We've got snow too . I would rest if I were you so that your cold can get better. Cuddle up with some cats and read a good book :).

I eat things that I don't like that much and want to use up for lunch at work, once it's gone it's gone. Either that or smother them in curry paste :)

A good day indeed to cuddle up with the cats :)

Redo , I hope you are feeling better very soon. The hoarse voice was what I started with.

Thank you for my multi quote lesson, it makes sense now.

The immersion heater shorted the house every time we switched it on so it got disconnected years ago. We aim to keep the meter on red solidly, and to do the weeks washing, ironing, etc so always a busy day.

I didn't do a huge amount for me, but didn't quite manage sitting and reading sadly. At least I don't have to got to work :)

I'm really rubbish at making myself eat things, so I'd have just been taking it for a nice drive. I will have a freezer tidy on Thursday, assuming the bin lorry can get up the hill on Friday.

If you can't taste things properly while you have a cold it could be an opportunity to eat the nasty soup. It'll be hot, have steam to clear your nose, and you could add lots of chilli to it as well. Otherwise bin it and use the space more sensibly...
