Its a long way back if he has to fetch you, cat logic is make you come along in the first place. Was it round the edges? Mine have tunnel vision and you have to shake the bowl for it to register as full.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

No, it was full of cats. They will move up but they expect constant fuss and try to sit on your head. Its hard to read or drink tea with a furry face warmer. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I got oranges, pineapple and some bananas to ignore today.
The curry was adapted from this one. I wouldn't add the cashew nuts again, they didn't really add anything but nice waxy potatoes added in the last hour were very nice. As always I just worked with what we have. The extra red chilli (from the freezer stash) really perked it up and i can actually breathe through my nose now.
boxofpaws - I struck lucky in MrM last year when they had a mountain of Barts spice paste jars to clear at 10p a go - I have several each of red thai, green thai, jerk and massaman. BBE next year too so was a real result. Hadn't even heard of massaman before that....
So DS2 cooked today. The infamous mostly veggie Boy Who Doesn't Eat. This is his third attempt at cooking at school this year. Week 1 saw him presenting raw chick peas (not hummus) and what would be best described as cat poo sized and shaped rock hard breadsticks that could be used as fatal weapons against marauding tom cats. Week 2 was the two hour chopping session to precision cut pepper and tomato salsa as his mexican 'meal' with the rest of his ingredients untouched. Week 3 was mince, so we did mock mince with lentils. He used half a tiny onion, 1 of the 2 carrots, and failed to add the chopped toms so what we have is lentils stewed in veg stock with some herbs. :rotfl: He is a lovely boy, and very kind to cats but oh dear me he cannot cook or follow instructions. I had to stand with my head in the fridge crying laughing where he couldn't see. On the positive side we have discovered that he likes raw chick peas, and (amazingly) finely chopped red onion.
Massaman curry sounds fab! Sigh - I was eating it this time last week - my omelette and wedges tonight can't compete.
Much hilarity reading about your chefy son! You can always use the breadsticks against nasty, bad-!!! Tom who keeps trying to murder poor fluffy!
Hope you feel better tomorrow redo. Stay in the indoors out of the freeze due tonight. Felines will help keep you snug - I doubt they will want to venture out much! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

:rotfl: Small cat here does that. The big one is much better company for snoozing as he lies next to you and can sometimes be persuaded to stretch out as a duvet draught excluder.Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

Being suffocated by purring loon offering furry cuddles? Its not terrifying, its just not always convenient.
Garage alarm went off at 1am for no obvious reason so then I ended up reading for ages to block out the inner dialogue of doom.
Breakfast cooked, yet more mushrooms consumed by me. DS1 plans to make pizza later so some bacon scraps out of the freezer for that and the last of the rump steak out for OH who doesn't like pizza.
I am trying to use all of the bits in the baskets at the top of the freezer - the nub end of chorizo, bacon scraps, etc. Its only useful keeping them if I actually use them. There was an interesting discussion on suffolk lasses diary yesterday about paying to store the shops food which made me think about just how I use the freezer. Hands up everyone who has something shoved in there that they don't particularly like, or that wasn't great the first time. I know I've got a couple of tubs of not very nice soup that will never willingly be eaten so why am I keeping them? I am back on 'food should be a pleasure, not a a punishment'. Cheap doesn't have to be nasty. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

:rotfl: to you hiding in the fridge laughing!!! Bless DS and his attempt to cook ha!
Hope you're feeling better now xxMummytogirls x0 -
Either dump the not nice soup or just eat it next week when you're having a 'not bothered whether I eat or not' day. And then focus on making nice stuff.
Hopefully the snow will stop soon and you can get out in the garden which should help with the black doom. If you're bored, you can come down and help me work out how to put this greenhouse back together... I actually need to work out what parts I need and decide whether it is worth it, or whether I should just buy a new and slightly smaller one.0 -
Well if anyone can concoct something tasty and edible from your freezer scraps, it will be you redo! If not, into the blue yonder they go.......... (as part of your new clutter free life!).:)Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
