BB, your contract is not with Amazon.
Amazon provide the marketplace. That's all.
What 'MSE guide' are you talking about?0 -
I will check if the payment screen goes to them (which it may on reflection) or Amazon EU:

These guys are definitely UK based, but as you say could be getting Chinese fakes. Could be why they couldn't confirm model number even though I asked them to check sticker under the item.
I will resume post once received.0 -

Actually, maybe my contract is with Amazon?
I paid half credit card and half Amazon gift vouchers to use it up - they must pass the money onto the vendor? Isn't that how paypal works - sure there is a sub law that say theyt are just asking on behalf or wotnot.
Anyone know how that works? Vendor definitely doesn't accept them :-)0 -

Sellers are paid from the funds Amazon process on their behalf. If you pay with vouchers then the credit will go to the sellers account. When the payment cycle is reached the seller will be paid into their bank account.0 -

Well, I have finally got my goods and about to test if it works, but believe to be fake.
On a more serious matter, I have noticed the company want into liquidation in 2015 (wound up) and final meeting and public notification 2 months ago, but are using the same website and name likeness (have just removed the limited from their title, but company is called the same), but all email addresses are registered to the same address and director.
Is that legal? Just checked gov website and see this:
"Reusing the company name after insolvent liquidation
If you’re a director of a company that has gone into insolvent liquidation, you’ll be banned for 5 years from forming, managing or promoting any business (including companies) with the same or similar name to your liquidated company. A banned name includes:
a name the company was known by in the 12 months before liquidation
a registered name at companies house
a trading name
any similar name that suggests an association with the liquidated company
This restriction applies to both registered directors and people who have acted as a director in the 12 months before liquidation."
Not out to cause trouble or one to report stuff TBH, but this just doesn't seem right - you would think they would have a better attitude and customer service to avoid people looking into them!0 -

If they are attempting to trade through a company which does not exist, the individuals involved will be personally liable.
Of course that will only help if you can track down the individuals (check the historic directors details for the company in liquidation on Companies House). And if the individuals are in the UK - if the individuals are in China forget it.0 -

They are in the UK and all official statements of winding up the previous company and current owner of the website are listed as the same Director and trading address! The website has one company, but they may be trading as a different company name, but with same website and contact information as the previous company name and address??? The registered organisation name and email is the previous company.
They also have registered a different URL to the same website, registered to the same home address, but different company name. However, my receipt and letter is for the company name likeness (with Ltd) of the liquidated company, not a parent or different company.
I don;t know law and could be wrong, but something feels off.0
