Help with Purchase through Amazon Market Place

Options
Not sure if I want to name them here, just yet, but after some advice please...

Buying a product through Amazon > other options > Marketplace.
So far had bad emails and attitude on the phone and vagueness confirming a part number - even hanging up for no reason, phone back continue the call with no apologises. Starting to get a bad vibe.

(Shame on me) I then did some research and have found out they have terrible reviews, sometimes fake goods are sent, keeping peoples money and even have a County Court Injunction out on them.

Their T&C's on their website and policies also seem unreasonable and state if bought through their website or over the phone everyone must comply to their terms, however I used Amazon and also paid for a credit card, so am hoping I have more protection and the contract of sale is between me and Amazon? (but isn't there Statutory UK law the vendor must abide to?).

I am just worried if the goods don't arrive or are fake. They take more money out of the credit card, don't respond to refund if faulty, say they never receive the return...etc The first issue was the part number in the amazon advert wasn't what they were selling and the reason I was purchasing it was for that model.

I have searched the address and can see many companies are registered there, some active and some listed as dissolved, a few in the same industry as these guys. Think its just a registered office/PO Box address.

Is there any way I can find the owner of the website or the company as I feel like I am dealing with a non-entity?

If nothing arrives, do I just complain to Amazon to resolve for me?

Is there anything I can do with my credit card company?

Goods was approx £200.

I won't name here, in case I am paranoid and all works out, but so far, not impressed at all.

Thanks

Thank You - have already read the second one.

Will check the other. How can some of these places still trade! Has stuffed me up for a birthday present - item not as described (haven't received it yet).

How do you know it isn't as described if you haven't received it yet?

Yes, how do you know it isn't as described?

If all else fails on Amazon you have A-Z although you should exhaust other avenues before opening one.

They still trade because people still buy- why did you buy? That will be the same reason every one still buys and then researches them after.

The easiest way to get these places shut is if people actually use the ratings search facility, check feedback and only then buy.

Because I always trust amazon and didn't initially see it was a market place entry (my fauly, hands up guv).

Dismayed to see most of their stuff is fake and even says it on small print 'unless otherwise stated' - not idea how they can get away with Sky, Apple and Mercades fakes, but seems they do.

when I get it, i it doesn;t have an authetic sticker and model number sticker (I have seen real ones, it will go straight back) - surely a UK business openly selling branded fakes would be closed down? Have traced back to 2 addresses now, one trade and one home :-)

Will have to see if Amazon A-Z and credit card can help if they decided the tracked item doesn't come back - let you know how I get on. Hope Im not being paranoid, but looking at others buying similar I don't have much hope.

Their site does state it's a genuine part, so we will see...

Will delete post if it comes off, but so rude and unproffessional on the phone simply enquiring about part numbers.

It's probably Chinese based shipped from a UK holding depot, but no your contract isn't with Amazon although they do help if things go wrong.

I disagree - it's not your fault. I think it's fair to assume that people who sell under the Amazon name are somehow pre-vetted by Amazon. I certainly do...

Did the payment not go to Amazon (and then Amazon pay the seller)? Surely your contract is initially with Amazon, not the marketplace seller? And I'm sure your credit card supplier could help, although I'd imagine both are going to say you need to give them time to deliver the goods before you reverse the purchase.

Yes, my contract is with Amazon as stated in MSE guide. They also offer protection with their A-Z policy, so at least I can take up with vendor direct, amazon or credit card (hopefully).

If I dealt directly on their website would of been with them.

Their un-professionalism and reviews has really thrown me as usually so careful - will name and shame if fake so that the community can be aware and see the information I have found out about them to see why I am so angry.

Well... Rating on Amazon were good - on Trust Pilot and other sources TERRIBLE!

I'm usually so savvy - imagine how many other people or elderly buying a present could be sucked in.
