I've checked the bills account, and neither of those bills have gone out. I'm going to send some over to savings to reach my December goal, and the rest will go over to the Christmas pot. If they do happen to go out at some other point, there'll be enough in the bills account to cover them and I'll just transfer the money back.

Ds1 is going back to school today. Once I've dropped him off, I'm taking ds2 into town to buy the bits needed for his birthday party next weekend as well as wrapping paper for his gifts.

I have 2 other Christmas gifts to buy, but they're vouchers that can be bought online. I'll do that today. I then think everything will be bought for Chrismas. I've got the day off on Wednesday with no children at home and am planning on wrapping everything. 3 weeks to go!!!

I didn't buy the vouchers today, otherwise I did everything I intended. I also walked/ran for over 2 miles. I'm in shock :rotfl: I've decided I need to be more active. I really need to lose some weight (I thought I was happy with my size - a 16 - but I've seen a couple of pictures recently and they look awful). I hate 'dieting'. It always works for a month or 2 and I do lose weight. But, there always is that time when I 'fall off the wagon' and end up putting on every pound I lost and more. So I'm not going to diet. I'm going to set a good example to my children by moving more and just eating proper, decent food. I'm going to cut down on the rubbish and fill myself up with good food. It's kind of a no pressure approach and fingers crossed I'll see results. It won't be a quick fix, but they don't work long term anyway.

I've actually done what people don't advise here - I've joined a gym. There's no contract so if I see I'm not using it, I can leave. The membership is a family one which means we can all swim as part of the price, and dh and I can use the gym and classes. It costs just over £40 a month, which I've put into my spreadsheets and we can afford it. I'm breaking myself in gently (I know I'll hurt tomorrow) so planning on going twice this week. From next week onwards I'm aiming for 3 times a week - Monday evening, Wednesday straight from work and Friday when ds1 has his swimming lesson.

Money wise - I've spent today! I got all the decorations and plates, cups, balloons etc for ds2's birthday party. Ds1 came home from school with a letter about Christmas show tickets so I've ordered them. He also came home with a letter saying that fruit money was twice as much this year as last as they now eat a whole piece of fruit not half. It's taken them until December to mention it. We owe just under £6 in fruit money, so that's ready to go in tomorrow.

Tomorrow I plan on tackling the laundry and pushing the hoover around. I also need to food plan for next week and do my online food order.

I’m a gym member. I’ve always used it regularly probably until the past 3 months. It’s a great motivator.

Does your DS not get free fruit at school?

No he doesn't. We're in Wales so I'm guessing it's different here. I used to go to the gym before having the boys and I really enjoyed it. I know it costs but if it helps with health then I can only see that as being a good thing :)

Day off today with no children at home. Wrapping day. By the end of the day I'm aiming to have all Christmas gifts wrapped and December birthday gifts wrapped. I'll be sick of the sight of sticky tape by tonight!!! :rotfl:

I've finished buying Christmas gifts now, I bought the last 2 yesterday. I'm waiting for one of dh's to arrive from Amazon but I don't think it's released for another week or so. The money has been put to one side for it.

I'm going to have nursery photos to pay for today and I'm paying for ds1's after school club. Will probably get another after school club bill tonight! The money going out should start to slow down soon.

Hi MrsS, i haven't stopped by your diary for a while so it's nice to catch up.

I'm glad your DS is on the mend - hopefully he makes it through school today! Sounds like you have a lot on your agenda today with all the wrapping!

Reading your last few posts rings so true with me - it's like an almost constant flow of outgoings for ont thing or another... glad it's coming to an end soon.

I came on to post thinking I haven't posted in ages but looking back my last post was yesterday :rotfl:

DS2's photos were ridiculously expensive - £32. And I went for the second cheapest option. Yikes!!! I've had my haircut tonight, but with a different person to usual. I wasn't happy with the way my hair was being cut, and switching to another person has saved £3 as she's not as high up!! Every little helps!!

I popped to buy bread on way home from the hairdressers, and ended buying a bar of chocolate each for me and Dh.

I keep thinking the December spending must be ready to slow down, but it seems never ending. It is getting to the point where I'm thinking that surely there's nothing left to buy :rotfl: We definitely need a frugal January!!

    Friday :j :j :j

I went to the gym after work tonight, but only had a short session as I needed to collect ds1. I've decided to squeeze this short gym session in every Friday night. I'm going to aim for 3 times a week at the gym, with the option of an extra weekend session if I feel like it (or want to escape for a while :rotfl: ).

Today hasn't been spendy......in fact I think it was actually a nsd!!! :j The weekend definitely won't be, but yay for today.

Food shop coming tomorrow. It includes lots of party food for ds2's party, but still only comes to about £10 more than our usual shop. I've cut right back on our usual shop this week as we have so much in, so should have a nice pot of spending money left over for the week! It's definitely needed at the moment!!
