I had a shock when I added up the baby food back in the summer. We went away for 3 weeks and I did a massive ASDA order of non perishables for the whole time £50 just on baby snacks. (And we've never used formula) I got a real shock.
I now stock up when things are on a proper offer and try not to give him shop Bought snacks when we are at home. But he loves the oaty bars.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

These little ones cost a fortune don't they??!! We really try and not give him many, but there are weeks where we're just lazy. Sunday night. Ready to start a new week.
We've got over £50 in the spending pot this week (and almost £15 in the leftover pot). The aim this week is to not spend much of it :rotfl: If only life were that easy!! I need to pick up some birthday cards and will need to pay for parking tomorrow. I'm aiming to have enough leftover to cover a takeaway next Saturday night.
I am expecting to find a couple of letters in my son's school bag over the next few weeks asking for money!! Tickets to their Christmas show, and tickets to a panto they take the children to every year.
Me and Dh are going Christmas shopping this week, but we have vouchers, money in the Christmas pot and extra budgeted for lunch and any other bits and bobs we buy (Dh needs new trousers!). This means our weekly budget shouldn't be touched.
I'm going to put a few bits on Facebook selling pages this week and I aim to complete a few surveys. I also need to sort through ds2's wardrobe to get the next size ready and make sure we have what we need. I'm going to aim for 2 nsd's this week as I know the others days will be impossible.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

- Laundry - wash towels, and anything else that's in the basket. - will do tomorrow

Feeling productive today! I have just spend £18 though!!
It was frozen out there this morning, so I put ds2 in ds1's old snowsuit. It literally just fits! He'll have grown out of it in no time at all. I've ordered one in the next size from Asda for £14, and a hat for him for £4. I'm passing an Asda towards the end of the week, so I've opted for free store delivery. This leaves £35 for the week.
I'm half way through sorting ds2's next size clothes. He's now asleep so I'll have another go at them later. I think there are more bags up the attic because I'm sure there should be quite a bit more there than there is of ds1's old clothes. Once I've finished sorting them I'll need to make a list of what else ds2 will need. Fingers crossed not too many bits!!
Ds2 has just started to wake, so time for a walk to get his prescription.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Other than ordering the bits from Asda for £18 I spent £3 on the parking ticket and a birthday card (and the change went in the 20p tin). I listed and sold one item on facebook for £10 :j I've put the £10 in the Christmas pot. I've got 1 load of washing going, but not getting done what I wanted. Tomorrow's task will be laundry!
Dh has gone back out to work tonight so that will bring a little extra money in. We're still waiting for our third quotation for getting a new boiler. We know we won't be using the second people who came (weren't impressed with them at all, before even getting the quote). I'm hoping to get the quote within the next few days so that we can make a decision and fingers crossed get it all sorted before Christmas.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Just got back from the very rainy school run! Today's tasks are:
- Laundry, done
- Check accounts and reconcile YNAB, done
- Finish sorting ds2's clothes,
- Drop off a birthday gift, done
- Admin work for dh. done
I've already spent £5.50 this morning. I knew school would be expensive this half term! I ordered a pack of Christmas cards that ds1 made at school. I'm sure there will be a few more letter over the next few weeks.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I am completely shattered. I do think it has something to do with that lovely Mother Nature, and tonight I'll be found curled up on the sofa with the biggest bar of chocolate!!
I've ended up finishing dh's Christmas shopping today (so that nsd went out the window!!). The money came from the Christmas fund so all ok. The majority of the rest should be done Thursday. It will be nice to feel on top of it!
Work tomorrow. I'm taking leftovers for lunch. Despite there being a shop in the village where I work, I'm pleased to say I have taken my lunch in every single day. Not even a bar of chocolate bought!!
No surveys have been done today. Prolific seems on stop again, and the others annoy me a little as you get half way through a half hour one and then get kicked off!! I haven't got the patience for that!! Opinion outpost isn't too bad, but I much prefer prolific when there are surveys.
I'm currently waiting for my water bill to compare. Last year it was out on 2/11 and the year before 11/11 so any day!! My last bill 6 months ago was very high compared to the usual, so I'm hoping it has settled back down. We still haven't had the third quote and it has been 5 days so not sure whether to chase it whether it's too early!! I just want to get things sorted......I'm far too impatient!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

Hump day almost done!! I've been at work today, so a NSD!! Dh is working late tonight again....the extra money will be nice when it arrives! I've done a check of the bank accounts and ynab today, all good!!
I'm going Christmas shopping tomorrow, but have budgeted for what we need. It's going to a full on day but it will be nice to get the majority done!! We've got Tesco vouchers to use for lunch and I've got some Debenhams vouchers to spend providing I use my Debenhams card. I lost the PIN number so sent for a reminder and that turned up today. I've also got Park vouchers and a voucher I got from Tesco for the home trials.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
