Work today
it has been a lsd not a nsd. Once packed lunches were done, the fruit bowl was almost empty again so I popped to Tesco after work for a quick stock up to last us until our big shop at the weekend. I've worked out why we're flying through fruit this week......it's half term so ds1 is home. He loves fruit and I'm definitely not complaining if he opts for fruit instead of junk.
The fruit and bread cost £2.89. That leaves 27p to last until Friday :rotfl: we do have £14 ish in the monthly left over pot, so if there was something we desperately needed we could do something about it. It's very unlikely, though, and this 27p should last until the weekend!!
My survey aim was to reach £20 by the end of the month. I ended up 6p short, but have had a survey today which starts my next £20 off nicely. I hope prolific picks up a little as it seems very slow at the moment.
Tonight's dinner was a frozen dump meal in the slow cooker. It made space in the freezer, meant less to buy this week and was done in the slow cooker so very little prep. Ds2 loved it, but ds1 was a bit fussier. He tried a little, and ate plenty of rice :rotfl: He used to love veg, then went terrible with eating it. He's far better recently, and will finish the veg for most meals, but isn't sure of anything new. We'll get there!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
:j it's been a nsd. I still have my 27p to last until tomorrow night!! Spending my days at work does well for money saving :rotfl:
I forgot to take meat out of the freezer ready for food tonight, so it was beige freezer food! ds1 was pretty happy!! :rotfl:
One more day until the weekend. We have a couple of things on this weekend but I've put money aside for them in my 'planned spends' category. I've spent this evening sending invoices for dh so fingers crossed there will be plenty coming in soon!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I forgot to add the finance stuff that has happened today!!
I received the PIN number for the credit card that I overpaid and has money sitting on it, so will be able to use that at some point. I also received the paper work for setting up the savings account that I'll be transferring the £5,000 into. That has all been signed and will be back in the post tomorrow.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Friday :j
Only 16.5 hours until we add more to our 27p :rotfl: Today should be a nsd so that 27p will jump over to the monthly left over pot.
Dh is paid every Friday, so I've checked and that's gone in. Ynab has been updated.

A nice early start :rotfl: the joys of young children and wet beds!! At least being awake this early means there's a good chance I'll doze off again before it's time to get up!!
We're having a family day out today. I've budgeted £25 which should be enough. We're not paying any sort of entrance prices, it will just be a day in fresh air with a chance to run around. That £25 will cover lunch and maybe a snack. I've been given 2 free hot drink coupons for Tesco cafe so may *treat* ds1 and Dh to a hot chocolate there this afternoon :rotfl:
After today's food shop comes out of the budget (new weekly budget :j ) we're left with £52 for the week. I've also got a pair of trousers I want to return so that should add another £16. Today's planned spends are separate and I've got money already set aside for firework entrance tickets so the weekly leftover budget should not be all spent. I'm hoping that we'll be able to keep some for a takeaway next weekend - I'm really fancying a curry!!
I had my loan statement through yesterday. It was definitely nice opening at and seeing zero!!
I've been doing a couple of opinion outpost surveys (as prolific is so slow!!). I need one more survey to reach the payout (£2.50). I'll have a look now to see if there's one available.
Right, time to check the accounts, check ynab, do a quick survey and attempt more sleep!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I reached £3 on opinion outpost, so am waiting to receive that. We also need to fill up with petrol today. It has been 3 weeks since I last filled up. Working closer to home is great! I have a 10p per litre voucher off so will be finding a Tesco for the petrol (as well as the snack!).
I did manage a little more sleep, and I was gone 7 when I woke. That doesn't happen often!! I can hear the little ones and Dh up already so I need to get moving!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
