Morning all, 1/21 please.
Last night for dinner I had a steak with half a bottle of red wine, something I used to do all the time before this year and I used to enjoy it so much. I have got wine round the house, a product of when I used to belong to one of those wine clubs, but it is packed away and I haven't drunk any of it since March. The dinner was delicious but I obviously can't drink as much as I used to because I missed my footing on the stairs and have now twisted my ankle, ow :rotfl:Anyway, I took that as a sign that this year was right and my past way of life was wrong, and I tipped the rest of the bottle of wine down the sink this morning. God save us from the tyranny of the leftover wine. I might see if I can give the other unopened wine away. If I can go this long without touching it it's clearly not that great a temptation but by the same token there's no point my keeping it either.
There's actually a load of other booze which I had to move out of the pantry this past week - a big collection of spirits, which I also haven't drunk from since March. I had to move it because I got someone in to fix the window in there. I shifted the collection in and out of the pantry a couple of times to make way for the fixit man and then thought "why the hell have I got all this booze then". The collection included midori and some beer, a bottle of cheap tequila and two bottles of champagne, none of which I even like, so I have chucked most of that away too. If I'm not drinking it, why is it there?0 -
Declaring early on 1/14 for today please Shaggy0

Trying to imagine my 20/30 for Nov. I'm feeling a bit daunted but I'm going to give it my best shot.
Good luck for the coming month everyone.
Try not to be daunted slowdown, see it as a challenge that you can take control of. It helped me to map out in my diary the days when I plan to drink rather than try to be AF all the time and then beat myself up if I fall short. I find that more manageable. Hope that makes sense.:)Honey_Bear wrote: »I'm going to have to be sugar-free, chocolate-free and cheese-free for November. Defo need to shift this tummy or by the new year I'll look like a tub of lard.
31/31 please, Shaggy.
:T well done on another AF month HB. That's quite a challenge for November. On the weightloss, as you know I do SW. I'm not saying you need to do that but the principle of limiting treats to a fixed amount each day or each week might help going forward. I suppose it's similar to having a number of AF days or sticking to a number of units.
I'm pleased to be starting the month off today. I always feel a bit despondent when a month starts at the weekend and it takes me a while to get off the ground.
1 AFD please Shaggy.0 -

Hey thanks Honey Bear - though obviously not quite such an achievement as yours :T:T:T Also, without this thread and everyone on it I'm quite sure I would be nowhere. I really feel I have made progress and am happy and am going to cling to this thread like a limpet so that keeps happening :rotfl:0 -
Good afternoon everyone,

If I manage it, this will be my 11th day in a row Chocolate-free....also managed to exercise 11 days in a row. Scales now moving in the right direction....but it is a painfully slow process....What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Re weight loss, not a subject on which I am any kind of expert but I have managed (for now at least) to substitute those rice cakes with the thin coating of chocolate on top for any other kind of chocolate - they are quite low-calorie and it seems to help.0
