The Cutting Down / Giving Up Booze Thread (Part 14)

I do really struggle with soft drinks, sounds daft since I drink beer but I hate all sugary drinks
Have not found a replacement except water which, while good for me, gets a bit boring
Or too much coffee
My biggest struggle will be holidays but luckily my next one is visiting a relative in the Middle East and she does not drink
The most difficult thing about life without booze was finding something to drink that I liked enough to want to drink all evening. I share your dislike of sugary drinks, which made it really difficult. My fallback in the early days was tomato juice with a good slug of Worcester Sauce, but I could only manage a maximum of two per evening, which wasn't enough.
I was a wine drinker and I tried all of the AF wines and they were all equally disgusting.
So I started on the alcohol-free lagers and that was, fortunately, where I found what I was looking for. I needed something slightly sour and my preferred brand is Beck$ B1ue, but I'll drink any AF lager or beer that any pub or bar has, and they're all preferable to anything sugary.
Bonus time - after water, they're the healthiest drink in the pub, according to a doctor on the radio the other day. Hurrah!
I'll catch up with the rest of the thread tomorrow.
30/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

and Good Luck! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
