Hi,

I've been a long standing member of PlusNet - originally getting my wife a contract joining December last year, I got onboard with the launch offer of £10 per/month with 4G data unlimited texts and unlimited calls, should have been £15 a month...

Since my wife joined, we've had problems with voicemail notifications. As an example someone would leave a voicemail, but there was no notification of this on the phone, (an iphone7). This was reported to PlusNet back in May 17, since then I was first told it was a software issue with the brand new iphone7,later being told that PlusNet don't support notification of messages left on voicemail.

This issue has raised it's ugly head again as I ordered the MSE 5G, unlimited texts and calls via the affiliated link.

But yet again, we are suffering from no notifications of voicemail with an entirely different SIM and phone - now using an old iphone 4S(notifications working fine on the old SIM vodafone) - both now not showing any indication of voicemail.

I've contacted PlusNet again today and was told that they don't support voicemail notification, but that's not what their voicemail service says, it says you will be notified, PlusNet are to investigate, but since this issue was raised in May 17 with them don't expect a resolution anytime soon.

I'm raising this issue on here, just in case you want to go for the MSE deal but rely on voicemail notification.

If anybody else has issues please add your thoughts, because I'm told it only effects me, and nobody else on the PlusNet network despite a new SIM and a different phone?

Regards,

NoviceAngel

Is there an option for plain old SMS notification? The dedicated notification is likely to be phone specific and lots of users will only have basic phones, especially given the meagre amount of data in their SIM only offers.

No there doesn't seem to be that option, back in May the voicemail service did say you could choose how to receive notifications but when I called Plusnet they said that was a legacy EE notification and was not available on PlusNet.

Now dialling voicemail that announcement has now been removed and there's no options to select apart from creating a personal greeting.

I must admit that would be an ideal fix! On my previous network Vodafone I would get both a SMS and phone icon notification.

    I can't believe PlusNet can't do this ....

Three send an SMS text when you have voicemail waiting, you can personalise the greeting too. I thought this was standard until I looked at Plusnet!

I have just checked on my Samsung galaxy S4 and its working fine.
I got a notification straight away after it went on to the voice mail i spoke a few words then hanged up and it came though straight away.

I have a galaxy S6 on three and also have Plusnet on my S4 had the Plusnet since it was life mobile.

May be its just some phones in don't work on but very strange

Glad it's working for you, I have tried on two iPhones 6 plus an iPhone 7 and an old 4s none getting notifications but only seems to be on plusnet, all the phones worked well on Vodafone - text notification would be great but they don't support it. Normally on the iPhone you get a little red dot on the voicemail icon to tell you messages are waiting.

My wife has missed loads of messages one changing her hospital appointment - it's really frustrating

    Just a quick update:

I'm not sure if the problem has been resolved because I now get a push notification - which I've never had before and a red dot on the voicemail icon. Working on both our phones this morning.

    EDIT - not working again

Well done PlusNet!! They might well have fixed it.

Did you try with a different phone? not iPhone

I only have iPhones to try it on, but I do have an update - today no notifications again, this follows the pattern with my wife's SIM sometimes the notifications work sometimes they don't - there doesn't seem any logical pattern behind it ...

Can I please ask anyone on plusnet just to give it a try and please post the results - thanks

I took the £5 for 1.5gb plusnet sim only deal recently and ported my number from iD, I get text alerts and the red dot on my phone icon for every message. I use an iPhone 6s.
