On buying or renting a new house?
It has been a hot topic in this thread:

Perhaps better posted in DC or The Arms?... Because on this board it seems it would be like teaching a duck to suck eggs.
So back on topic: Do you?

As you point out, it was extensively discussed in that thread, so why discuss further?
Some peope do, some people don't. The reasons for doing so have been discussed to death!0 -

We've always changed the locks....even before we've finished moving in. It's a priority on moving day, I've been shocked to read that I seem to be in the minority?
Mind you, we haven't moved for around 14 years, our current house, and my flat before that, both had a Yale type lock and a mortice lock, both of which can be changed in minutes. I'd possibly get a professional to change anything more complicated. I'd still do it though, you've got no idea who has keys to your place otherwise!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Never have and my parents didn't either.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Yes do so tomorrow, and a carbon monoxide alarm if you use gas or have an open fire/wood burner!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

I didn't see the point in our first house (repossession) as the bank held the only sets. My Mum was worried that the previous owners would turn up, and didn't seem to realise that the point of a repossession is to stop the owners getting in! Our current house I want to get done, but tbh it's been low down on the list of priorities of a broken central heating system, a warped garage door and damp outbuildings. In fairness, there is usually someone around during the day, we have a dog and the neighbours know who we are and who the previous owners are.
Those of you who change locks, do you change all (front, back, side, garage, main garage door, shed) or just the "main" door?0 -
Never really thought about this...until NOW!0
