No windscreen parking ticket, first PCN from debt collectors

Options
I have received today a letter from debt collectors (ZZPS) which is a first thing I hear about getting a ticket issued. I checked the date and the address and I can confirm I have parked there, I do so regularly since its the only place available to park at when I visit my gf.

The issue date is 26/05/2017 as ZZPS claim, and apparently they contacted me before. Yet there was nothing on my windscreen, no letters from the car park owner, literally first time I hear about it.

Their client is supposedly "Globe Protection Limited TA IG Security", but I have to also check on their sign on the parking.

I have no intention of paying this, but is there something I can do since they never gave me a parking ticket, a time to appeal, or any photographic evidence that I parked there?

Everyone is politely asked to read the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread. Debt collector stage is covered in post #4.

Do not write about 'you didn't give ME a parking ticket' because the keeper must NOT divulge who was driving, as explained in the sticky thread.

IPC firm so no appeal worth trying but that DOES NOT mean to pay...

    https://theipc.info/aos-members/g

...it means ignore the scam, as per the NEWBIES thread advice about debt collector letter stage (regardless of whether a PCN was ever received). Collect the letters, ZZPS and Wright Hassall (yes really, search the forum).

Ignore unless they try a small claim.

IPC cases are all the same, but you will know that from reading 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Since on the letter from ZZPS the date issued of PCN is 26th of May, isn't it too late for an appeal to IPC?

So should I just sit tight now and wait for any official court papers, if they ever appear?

Yes, but please don't just wander off without reading the NEWBIES thread and other threads like yours.

  • Hey, I'm bumping this thread since I got new letters, I kept ignoring them and just putting away for my own record, but I only just noticed the last letter was headlined "Formal Letter Of Claim".
From what I understand this is the one, which everyone should actually respond to, but it have beed 3 weeks since the date it was issued, should I bother at this point and reply to them with any of the template letters?

Also, the letter is from Wright Hassall, where they claim they write instructed by ZZPS on behalf of the Car Park Operator, "in connection with the recovery of the Debt". From what I've gathered reading through related threads on here, that I can get them in trouble for saying "Debt recovery" somehow, because there is no debt. Is that right?
  • Yes, you still repsond. Show us your draft response here.

Not responding is unreasonable behaviour. do that enough you might get more costs awarded against you.

No, there is no trouble you can get them into. It is only an alleged debt, but theyre allowed to just say "debt" as they claim there is one.
