My Amex card sends notifications - I guess by the iOS App. My running watch picks them up and shows them - I usually see the message as I am putting the card away as it is very quick.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Thanks. Amex is not an option for me as too many places don't accept it.0

It is true that some places don't accept Amex but you have a second card for those times. Cashback is good.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Carrying and managing a second card is the last thing I want to do. My credit card spend is not huge, and the 0.5% I get in vouchers from the John Lewis and Amazon (neither Amex) cards is a good enough compromise for me. Plus I'd genuinely have an issue using a card which I know charges small retailers and shop owners way more.
This is just my very personal opinion - YMMV, of course.0 -
I have amex and have the android app but I don't get notifications per transaction. It appears that the best I can get is a push once monthly spend reaches a specified amount.
I also have android pay and have push notification switched on but that doesn't seem to work either...0 -
Have Monzo Starling etc said if they plan to launch a credit card with app-based push notifications, like their debit cards?0

Not that I'm aware, I checked their website but couldn't see anything0 -
American Express is the only one I've encountered that sends notifications0

Yes - sadly it seems to be a get-what-you-pay-for scenario - Amex offer wider services and generally better rewards as a result of charging retailers more.
Flip side is, small businesses who can't afford it don't accept it. If they are willing to suck up the cost (I can't imagine anyone would lose sales by not accepting Amex) then I don't see too much of a reason not to benefit (especially at least not at the bigger retailers).0 -
Amex app on Android app now offers per-transaction notifications. I only saw the update last night, so while I have enabled I have not been able to test just yet.
Update: Just paid for something on the web on my laptop - instant alert to my phone.
