Thanks guys I shall do that1

Another day ... And still no movement from the top.
Keeping the story simple.
We are AOur sellers are BTop of the chain C.
All three ready to exchange by solicitors standard.
Had multiple dates set already. Person C keeps dropping it. For no apparent reason.
Person C lies to person B consistently. When challenged on it...C threw out a date of the 8th Feb for completion, via message not.via solicitor.
Reluctantly person B (and us) have suggested Feb 8 through solicitor as completion day (we all wanted earlier)
Now , no one can get hold of person C's solicitors to get them to confirmand accept this date that they suggested.
I suspect they will push it back further. They are literally just saying "they need more time to prepare". Which is fine...but they've been expecting to move for three months now....let alone ready to exchange for the last 6 week's.
Leaving both us and our sellers living in boxes, thanks to their incompetent attitude on multiple occasions.0 -

Our buyers are absolute stars and are happy with the new date so that’s one less worry.I have found, through painful experience, that the most important step a person can take is always the next one.

mlb95 said:Morning, I too am hoping to exchange today 🤞 Solicitor has just rang to ask for authority to do so and is now speaking to the vendors solicitor to ensure she has vacated the property and happy to exchange. As they didn't want a COVID clause but also didn't want a simultaneous exchange/completion, so she has to leave in case she needs to self isolate between now and completion 🤷 Hopefully completing on Friday ...FTB 🙂

I guess the good thing was they've told you now rather than at the last minute.Im still working on my purchase that my tenants will be leaving end of Feb, not heard of any changes, so im still clutching on the hopes of exchanging on the 1st week of March1

Getting me worried.. we're also supposed to be competing on Friday, had the completion statement through today and confirmation of mortgage release on Thursday but we're still not exchanged and solicitor has sent another query today (hopefully a straightforward reply will seal it!)1 -

Just like my buyer's buyer who threw the whole chain under the bus at the last minute.... 😬0 -

Congrats on the exchanges, all!
And thanks for previous responses RE: completion statement.
I was worried about the 7 day payment as terms on solicitor quote said "£100 fee plus interest if not paid within 7 days" but they said don't worry about the 7 days - just clear the invoice before completion, happy days!
Stupid car *kicks MOT*
I will send deposit very soon (hoping to exchange this Friday) then got another 4 weeks before completion, so all good*touch wood.....please nothing go wrong*
