Just waiting for the solicitors to do their thing now, may have to look at the no search indemnity insurance though as the council for the area we’re buying aren’t doing any searches until the end of January due to a massive backlog! 😩
Hopefully it’ll all go well from now ok though, our solicitor has been very good so far so I’m not overly worried about anything now!FTB 🙂

Finally able to join in here.
House was on the market for 4 months - found a buyer and somewhere to go, and then both fell through!
New buyer and new house purchase - hope this time it goes a little smoother!5 -
Our buyer has mortgage offer! One step closer. Our offer expires at the end of Jan, need to really push to get the legals through. Luckily our purchase is all done ready to exchange. Really worried about the timescale especially with Xmas in the mix though.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2

Completed today, so relieved and pleased!
Chain free, 4 months, many enquiries but we got there.
House looks as good as I remember, just the rather large puddle sitting against the front wall of the house to deal with (we had 48 hours of snow and rain.) Didn't view in wet weather and its a good 4 inches deep so will be one of first things to look into - drainage! Should have worn my wellies!6 -
Was hoping to have everything done before Christmas but its been pushed back till next month.0

This was discussed here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6220523/exactly-why-you-don-t-want-a-long-gap-between-exchange-and-completion/p1gab3x said:Something to stress about:
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/money/45k-cost-of-house-sale-that-fell-apart-when-property-chain-collapsed-llg2xhxv0What I took away from that thread is it’s a very rare problems, most solicitors see it happen once or twice in their careers. Probably caused by one of the borrowers hiding debts or financial problems and it was only found after exchange. Horrible situation but not a new/frequentl thing.Mortgage - £274,000 to pay
