So as the original poster of this thread, I'm back again!  My house went up for sale today, where is the thread for those waiting for an offer?  Can anyone enlighten me?  Hopefully I'll be back on here soon!

  • Today after 5 weeks myself & my partner made the decision to pull out of buying, a week after we got our mortgage approved. I feel incredibly guilty but Boris’ announcement yesterday of a no deal Brexit was the final nail in the coffin for us. That and the poor financial support of the job retention scheme should we put on it just made us feel buying a house was a really risky situation right now. I’m sure some will think we’re stupid but I’ve convinced myself we’re heading for an economic crash.

Getting close now.... have signed all contracts and sent back to solicitor, hopefully will arrive on Monday. The LISA money has been requested for the 20th. I need to give notice for my rental this month so hoping I can exchange by the 30th.
  • Finally ready to complete a week tomorrow! After having our offer accepted on June 1st it’s been a hell of a long road but we’re finally there. Didn’t help that sellers onward purchase solicitors were on furlough and only working 2 days a week🙄. Does anyone know what time you roughly get keys etc and is there anything else you need to do on completion day or is it just a case of collecting keys?

    cheers folks.

Fingers crossed for you! By the way, Is the LISA date anything to go by? We haven't heard any dates from our solicitor yet but my partner received a letter from LISA provider that the funds are being cleared on a certain date.. but we don't know if this means anything!!!

Keeping everything crossed for exchange in the next couple of days. On 1st October I was told everyone in the chain was ready and they were waiting for us to get a signed contract to solicitor. I rushed it over that same afternoon and it turns out, we were the only ones actually ready. Hoping all issues now resolved and we can exchange by Tuesday/Wednesday. Good luck everyone waiting.

Usually around lunchtime, but my last purchase completed at 9.30am. I've also been kept waiting until late afternoon before.

Without knowing your circumstances, it's hard to add what else you need to do.

PS read/photograph any meter readings on exit and when moving in.
