Same situation ftb and the house is empty: i emailed for a date Friday and he said “I don’t know” he is waiting on the sellers solicitors telling him how quick they can get their end done

I'm getting really stressed by the fact my solicitor is ignoring my emails. Trying to decide on whether to complain or not. It feels like they are friendly with the sellers solicitor and is delaying me by just ignoring me in order to suit the other side. I feel like the sale might fall through😫0

KateO78 said:OMG !!!!! We exchanged today with 15 mins of the working day to spare ! Talk about down to the wire....... completion day is tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a painful, gruelling process at times - ours was an absolute nightmare, but hang in there everyone, keep chasing, you’ll get there, and when you do it will be worth all the pain! Sat in our lovely redecorated new front room writing this! This is not a thread I want to come back to for a very, very long time!!!! All the best!3 -
I received some emails over the weekend (shockingly!) from my solicitor with TR1, contract and mortgage deed to sign. She says next week we can finally talk about exchange dates with the other parties. The house I’m buying is empty so hoping now we’re in a new month I will be in my new house in September!
congrats to all who have had some movement this week. Let’s hope we all have a good and productive September!1 -
Hi all, I've been reading over this forum for the past few months and it's been my source of so much information so thank you everyone!
We are hoping to exchange today and complete on Friday, after about seven weeks from offer. We are buying a new build and have no chain so pretty straightforward though a few complex bits in the background (I hadn't actually started my new job when we submitted the offer and the mortgage is solely in my name for now, but our mortgage broker still managed to get it all done!) So pretty happy with how things have proceeded for now...
Our timeline is:· Offer made and accepted on the house we are buying 14/07
· Solicitors Instructed 16/07
· Meeting with mortgage broker, all documents given and Mortgage application submitted 17/07
· Meeting with solicitor, ID and documents given 22/07
· Searches submitted 22/07
· Halifax indicates happy to proceed with mortgage, awaiting valuation 22/07
· Valuation back and formal mortgage offer 03/08
And then nothing until…
· Searches finally back, additional queries to developer’s solicitor 17/08
· Queries back from developer’s solicitor 25/07
· In to solicitor to sign final documents, mortgage funds requested for following week and begin transferring deposit 27/07
· Hoping to exchange today and complete Friday 4 September
The developer's solicitor was on leave last week so we don't actually know if we can exchange today or complete friday, but the developer knows we are aiming for it and we've been told by our solicitor that it should be fine and doable for completion Friday - a nervy few hours/days await....!
Luckily we are buying the show home with furniture in situ, and moving geographically very close by so it's not the end of the world regarding deliveries/moving if things do shift back but desperate to get in all the same!0 -
Sorry I don't know how to edit but those last few months should read 08 not 07, woops!0

I was ready to exchange about 3 weeks ago but slow solicitors in the chain are making things take forever. The wait is killing me0

I’ve now sent three emails to my solicitor to try and get some clarity on exchange and completion dates. First one was sent last Monday. There’s no chain, I’ve had my mortgage offer and everyone wants a quick sale. Sigh.0
