We where meant to exchange yesterday or today still nothing, we have a good relationship with our buyers they paid their deposit yesterday. We are still on for this Friday apprently but no exchange yet what is going on???. Our solicitors say they are waiting for the other but our buyer states theirs are waiting for mine. I wish solicitors would just speak to each other.

Our buyer has chased their solicitor and they have informed ours they are ready. Our solicitor is just waiting for our lender to confirm funds will be ready for Friday, then we can exchange and all done. Will this nightmare ever end.

    Hi Slinky and Fisa,

Just popped over after Fisa mentioned people were wondering about my situation over from Mortgages sub forum :)

In it for the long haul it seems. Back to August when our sale fell through, we kept property on the market a further 7 weeks and then removed it. A lot of discussion later we decided to remortgage, release equity and do the house up. Will aim to sell again this year. In September, the owner of the house we wanted also took hers off the market temporarily for 6 months. In October we try to obtain a mortgage but the underwriters declined us due to going over our overdraft  accidentally in September. This meant a 3 month wait to be able to produce 3 months clear bank statements. Roll on to February we get back in touch with our mortgage advisor who sets it in motion for a remortgage with Virgin. Valaution is tomorrow! The house we want is now back on the market - however im more relaxed at the moment - what will be will be!

Our aim is to replace the roof, soffits & faschias, flat roof, totally re render the exterior of house and do the driveway/front of house with paving. Inside will see new budget carpet throughout upstairs, service of the boiler, some minor cosmetic repairs & another good declutter :rotfl: we are also paying off £10000 worth of debt too so its a good move even if we dont manage to sell this year.

Hopefully I will be back on here in no time *crosses fingers and toes*

    Sarah

Dont know if anyone is still on here from back in March or indeed 2017 when my saga began, but im back in here now! :T

House went on market late July, offer received 27th September and the chain is complete now, 4 sets of people in it - not too bad i hope! I'm crossing my fingers for a pre Christmas house move.

    Timeline -

27/09 - Offer accepted on ours and our offer accepted on new house
    28/09 - Solicitors appointed
02/10 - Mortgage advisor submits application to port existing mortgage and borrow an additional £88,500 - she seems confident and has submitted an AIP to the estate agents to prove funds.

Waiting now for the valuation on the house below us in the chain, once thats done I imagine the survey on our current house will get carried out and then it'll be our turn. Once the solicitors get the memorandum of sale they'll be sending out the paperwork.

We've been actively trying to move house for over 18 months so crossing everything that this is it for us this time :j

We’ve now done everything ready for exchange, the chain was ready weeks ago before a buyer pulled out so hoping all goes smoothly.

28/08 - offer on house 2 made and instructed solicitor to hold fire on house 1
    30/08 - offer on house 2 accepted
30/08 - 1st full mortgage application cancelled and new full mortgage application submitted via broker
03/09 - survey for homebuyer report taken place
07/09 - valuation survey taken place
07/09 - received search results from our solicitor (some purchased from previous buyer’s solicitor hence that quick). Solicior also received draft contract & other paperwork from seller’s solicitor this week
10/09 - received mortgage offer (email, waiting for paper version)
11/09 - checked in with solicitor and confirmed that all search results are back and they’ll go through paperwork in a couple of days when solicitor is Backform holiday
14/09 - finally received survey report. Few things flagged up and losing the will to live trying to get someone to quote for the work
25/09 - chain has agreed to completion date of 19/10. Should receive contract at the end of this week to sign.
28/09 - contract and other paperwork received, one enquiry still outstanding
02/10 - contract/other paperwork signed and returned, hubby’s passport renewed and certified copy sent and attempt number three with savings account statements. Exchange ASAP - hopefully competing 19/10 (chain agreed to that day).
    03/10 - deposit paid
