  • Hi @Lanky_larry I’m so sorry for your loss. I really hope this time it all works out for you!

I know what you mean about the emails, every time my phone rings I’m dreading that something else has come up!

Can your solicitors give you any time frames to work with?

I’ve had an update that apparently everyone’s enquiries are in and settled, we’re now just waiting for everyone to hand in their contacts and I think we should be able to exchange this week!

Hi @blaise802001 we’re waiting to exchange…hopefully next week, with completion on the 31st! We’ve signed all the paperwork but just waiting for others in the chain to sign it. Anyone else hoping to complete before the end of the month?
Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. We’ve been in and signed all the paperwork on Monday. Solicitor thinks that we will be in a position to exchange in a week or so too. We’ve also been asked for suggested completion dates, for which we have suggested 14th and 21st Feb. eek 😬

Joining in here, I'm not really sure where we are in the process, I have a cash buyer for our house, just in the solicitor back and forth, have a house I have offered on (18 months ago! this has DRAGGED)
I won't need a mortgage either so some of the processes are reduced I have no clue where we are or what's next but this has already falled through twice, and there's a lot of emotions tied up in it, as this should have been our forever home, but my husband passed away before we could actually sort this, but I am just sitting and getting really anxious at every email that comes through!
Oh no - so sorry to hear this. I suppose some good news to take from it is that the original house you have offered on is still there after 18 months. I hope you manage to sort things quickly now, especially as no mortgage is required.
Have you signed any paperwork yet?

Oh wow. That’s amazing. My last house purchase was very similar. This one has had a few minor issues, but hopefully the finish line is in sight for us.
Wishing you luck in your new home 🏡
  • @blaise802001 how exciting! It sounds like we’re both close to the finish line. We have now been given 6th Feb as a proposed completion date now. Good luck with the exchange soon!

@Tabieth wow that is very lucky! We had that with our first purchase, are you first time buyers moving into a new build?

No. I’ve owned before but I’m currently renting so no chain. I’m buying from a seller who also has no chain and (I assume) was as keen as me to move quickly. I’m buying a Victorian terrace.
  • @Tabieth Ahh that’s great! I’m very jealous of your whole process to be honest. We put our house on the market on 1st August, had an offer middle of September and I feel like it’s just dragged on for the last few months, we found out our current new build home didn’t have the final sign off from building regs so had to get building control out to inspect our house… over Christmas… which wasn’t fun, which then also void our indemnity insurance on our garage conversion. All been sorted out now but the last few months have tested me! 😂

We’re still waiting to hear from the first time buyers that they can move on the 6th Feb… hopefully get that confirmed by the end of the week! 🤞

Good luck to you all, have been under offer, from a cash buyer since June 2024 and it has dragged on and on. We didn't even go to market as the agent had her waiting! We will be going to market next week, as she is not answering her phone, any messages or anything from her solicitors! She has been in contact with them, so she is not ill, just not giving any answers as to why she is behaving like this! Cold feet? Just tell us!! Lets hope we have better luck now.....

Well we are eventually getting close to moving after 3 buyers dropping out, our 4th seems to be holding out so far!

Our seller has patiently waited for us to resell each time which has been amazing so I am now having to pull my finger out and start sorting out the house. The buyers want to complete before the stamp duty deadline which would be amazing for us so fingers crossed!!
