I have just this morning had an email from our solicitor which I thought was weird on a Sunday morning but still! She’s not said anything about the enquiries that she’s waiting for a response on but has just messaged to say the vendor has put forward a completion date of either 8th or 9th of Dec. I’ve gone for 8th as it’s a Thursday and gives a day should anything go wrong.
Surprised to get that on a Sunday, especially with us still as far as I knew being held up on enquiries.
I’ve gone back asking whether the enquiries are now settled, hopefully they are and we can look to exchange in the next couple of weeks.
Good luck everyone!0 -
Just had a reply to say that the last of the enquiries are in and she will be in touch shortly with her final report. She’s let the vendors solicitor know we are in agreement for 8th Dec completion.
I just now need to put the pressure on to complete by the end of Nov so I can get my one month notice in on our rental without having to pay for Januarys rent!0 -
Our completion day was supposed to be this week but we still haven't exchanged as we are waiting a redemption statement. I'm just praying that the sellers mortgage provider produces it quicker than they said it takes and on the intended completion day. Our mortgage offer also expires this week and the new rates are unaffordable for us.
The most annoying thing is everyone says it takes seconds to get a redemption statement except the sellers solicitors who claims it takes 10 days. 🙄0 -

I just need it all to come together by the end of Nov or I’ll end up having to fork out another £700 in rent!0 -

In the meantime, we're waiting for the conveyancing on our new purchase to catch up. It would be great if we could complete on the same day as we're moving out of our current home, but will see (current plan B is to annoy friends and family for a few weeks over Christmas and then airbnb, with our belongings in storage).
The purchase is pretty much ticking along as well - we got our searches back on Wednesday (all looking pretty good), are expecting our survey report Monday or Tuesday, and had to submit a couple of extra documents / responses for the mortgage application, so hoping that'll come back positive as well this coming week. So we're still hopeful on the 'catching up' plan at the moment, but one thing after the other I guess.0 -

Really hoping that this new week brings some dates. As far as I am aware my solicitor has had the enquiries back for our purchase and was reviewing them - there were only 6 raised so hopefully no hold ups. In our sale there was just 1 additional query raised which has apparently been answered already by the solicitor but buyers solicitor have queried the same thing again.
As I’ve had a few days off work I’ve been trying to get a few things done so I’ve removed some pictures/shelves etc and filled and painted the holes so the walls look better.
we’ve also ordered a new bed as we’ve never had room for a king size in our current bedroom. We’ve arranged delivery to my parents address just in case!!1
