The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Yes! I've already checked the latest mortgage deals. We've obviously budgeted for a certain monthly mortgage - if the chain falls apart and we need to apply for a new mortgage, the same monthly mortgage amount on current rates will now shave £60k off our property budget.trakky14 said:Argh is anyone else now desperately wanting to exchange in light of the news on lenders/interest rates?!! I feel every day that goes past is a greater risk to the whole thing falling apart 😥 Particularly as we are in a situation where we are waiting for our buyers lender's solicitor to give the green light after 3 weeks of waiting to be able to exchange!
I'm not an economist but surely this will be playing out across the country and house prices will fall (which I suppose is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time).

In exactly the same boat (perhaps you're the one buying my property) as i had countrywide value my property today... Nationwide have been to value the property I'm buying today (also countrywide) so will let you know when I hear somethingclairepostin said:Hi everyone, I have been lurking on here, loads of great info, thank you.
We are currently awaiting a mortgage offer from Nationwide, they (via Countrywide). This morning they have been to the property to value it.
Does anyone who may have been in the same position recently know how long I should expect to wait to see if the valuation stacks up and a mortgage offer is on the table?
Good luck with your move, I’ll report back too.
