  • And now I am thinking the worst that my buyers mortgage offer will be withdrawn 😭 all because the solicitor says they are waiting on confirmation of mortgage advance 🤦‍♀️
Never selling again! So stressful. Will be complete on Friday? I couldn't tell you anymore 😭
  • Congrats to everyone who has exchanged.

I’m still stuck in enquires hell - my solicitors new approach is - we’ll do something when we feel like it and don’t expect us to update you.

Fortunately I have a little time left on the mortgage offer but as I’m living with family I’m eager to move.

    I’m honestly never moving again!

I feel your pain, we've been waiting 3 weeks for our buyers lender to confirm they are happy to proceed after they raised separate enquiries 😭 as soon as they do we can exchange but the wait seems endless....

I'm in enquiries hell too, probate has finally come through (could have been a 6 month wait!). I'm tired of chasing everyone but can't afford the extra £250 if our offer expires.

Joining this thread again, starting from the beginning. Lost six months and £3000, but choosing to be optimistic about this next attempt.

    19/09 - Offer made

    21/09 - Offer accepted

    23/09 - Solicitors instructed

26/09 - Mortgage application submitted, memorandum of sale sent

I'm already getting twitchy over our solicitor not getting in touch with us to confirm stuff, but I'm sure my feelings are because the previous transaction fell through due to bad communication between the solicitors. It's only been two working days!

Happy to say we completed by 12pm today, and our chain all successfully moved house, and we are all settled, though have a few days of unboxing and sorting to come.

Compared to our last home move 13 years ago which couldn't have been more stressful, today couldn't really have gone better. Removals arrived on time, completion by lunchtime, and keys released (handed over as my sellers were very close to us) soon after, and the weather even held off till we were in.

Good luck to those still on the journey, and those just starting it. Hopefully you can get your exchanges and completions in good time.
Brilliant news glad it wasn’t too stressful for you enjoy your new home

    Hoping we “might” exchange today.

Apparently a single enquiry, something to do with a marriage certificate that was posted (why not just drop it off?!), is holding the chain up.

Touching lots of wood and crossing my fingers - our mortgage offer expires soon, and we’ll be up the creek without a paddle if it does expire because of all the mortgage deals being pulled!

Fingers crossed for you.  I’m feeling very twitched about the interest rates impacting the deals that our FTB will get and the vendors onward purchase
