cheeky-peach said:Morning all,
When we bought our current property, our sol send us all the fixtures & fittings docs to review whilst the searches were happening to give us chance to review. This time, we haven't received anything yet but just been told that they are waiting on search results. Do these things tend to differ between sols?

Hello all,
I'm tagging on to this thread as I have my fingers crossed that we will be reaching the exchange point soon.
We had an offer accepted on a chain-free property in mid-May, had our survey back in June and all searches have now been completed. The sale on our flat was completed a month ago so we're now each living with a parent and hoping we might be able to move into our new place in August.
We had some difficulty getting in touch with our solicitor back in May, because of the stamp duty madness (for a while we panicked that we might have even been able to make the deadline as things had been moving along faster than we expected, but it wasn't to be!) but we seem to be back on track now. Had a little delay because the title deeds didn't reflect the vendor's ownership (they inherited the property from their passed away mother), but this has been sorted now so our solicitor is looking over the draft contract. Hopefully there isn't much more to be done, unless any new enquiries need to be raised.
Good luck to everyone!0 -
Good morning, does anyone have any idea how long it takes for the cash from a Lifetime ISA to reach a solicitor?
We are due to complete the 22nd July, and all parties have agreed to this, however, we are yet to exchange as the people at the bottom of the chain have a Lifetime ISA, this has been requested by their solicitor a few weeks ago, but as of yesterday had still not been received!
I'm getting more and more anxious that it isn't going to come through in time, and if it doesn't we are not in a position to move again until September!0 -
Another week gone by without movement….I believe all enquires are now satisfied but then again who knows as our solicitor has something against keeping us updated 🤷🏽♀️Well at least I get the weekend off from compulsively checking my emails. Here’s to hoping for some news on Monday.Hope everyone has a lovely weekend in the sunshine ☀️1

Spoke with my solicitor this morning at 9am before I went to work and gave authority to exchange ( again ).Had a look on my phone at 4pm on my lunch break and seen that it’s all gone through.Moving day is on the 21st.Good luck everyone , it will be worth it.8 -
Well once again another week passes without exchange.
I’ve chased my estate agent and solicitor both of whom say they are ready to go.I’ve also had email communication from the people we are buying off and they are ready and frustrated too.
We have such a small chain and it’s just the top being slow!!!!
I also feel bad for emailing the people we are buying off as I know it’s not their fault we are delayed…fortunately they are good natured and feel the same as us…0 -

First time posting here after viewing for a while!
Had an offer accepted on a house early April. Things were going smoothly until the end of May when the owner of the house the sellers were buying asked them for 15k more out of the blue!! So they pulled out of that one, then a week later decided to pay the extra money
Got a completion date for this Wednesday and the day before the sellers solicitor receives an email saying the house the seller was buying has fallen through as the guy pulled out with no reason!?
So now I’m back to waiting for them to find a new house. My mortgage offer runs out in October (I know, seems ages away) just wondered if anyone knows if I will be able to extend that or do I have to do the whole mortgage application again?? Also wondering if maybe I should start looking at other properties myself tooThanks in advance!0
