After my near melt down yesterday over our terrible solicitor, we have just PAID OUR DEPOSIT for exchange on Friday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Hopefully coMpletion will be Monday! After renting from the age of 18 (14 years ago!), I can not wait to hand my final notice in!!My husband and I have done this all alone, no family help (a lot of people around us have been given full deposits), no government schemes, no special ISAs and no shared ownership. I am beyond proud of us! It has taken us around two years of saving, a pandemic and one of us on furlough for 8 months but we can finally see the finish line!We have found ourselves a lovely 3 bed terraced mid century house with a drive and garage! We were the first to view the day after it came on the market and we just ‘threw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may’ and put our offer in there and then 8 1/2 weeks ago. There have been tears, arguements and alot of bloody stress, but I’m sure it will be all worth it!Good luck everyone!7

So only posting now as wanting to make sure it was actually happening!
Selling our property and breaking the chain - we went under offer on 15th April and exchanged today with a completion date of the 30th.
We offered on an House which was accepted last Friday, so hope to complete on this property by the first week in august. Cash purchase so shouldn’t be too unrealistic!30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.2 -

BountyBlink said:You can order funds and drawdown without exchanging. You will need to pay the chaps cost to your solicitors and back if you don’t complete on the date you give on the COT
As well as the interest for the few days it's sat in your solicitors client account doing nothing.
