As someone who has had a buyer pull out previously, my only advice is not to delay doing so. It's never a nice conversation but better to do it quickly.
or you could do what our buyer has done and just disappear and refuse to take any calls :-)
So much sympathy with you. Our first buyer did this. Honestly, the lack of respect is dire!
I don't understand how anyone can do that.  It's really inconsiderate, not to mention downright rude playing with people's homes and lives like that.  My conscience wouldn't let me do that to anyone.

Another update from me.  Solicitor amended mistakes on the contract first thing this morning and emailed me a fresh copy.  I've signed that and posted back to them Special Delivery.  In other news, buyer's sol says they're waiting on responses to queries, my sol says they've been answered (gah!!).  EA progressor is getting very stressed and trying to get to the bottom of it all.  Buyer's rep came for final inspection/viewing this afternoon, all very happy.  He said that his inspection is the last thing and so I should be close to completion.  Let's bloomin' hope so!!

Similar situation myself. Just issues with final enquiries. Dragging on now and conflicting info constantly. Had been told initially we’d been in my end of April then easily by mid May and now I’m pushing for end of May but even that is looking unlikely.
Good luck with getting it sorted!!

Honestly, I don't know why the solicitors can't just schedule a call with each other instead of this interminable back and forth by email!  It's just ridiculous that they seem incapable of doing this, every other industry manages it.  It just becomes a game of 'tit for tat' doesn't it?  "Yes I did", "No you didn't".  Fingers crossed there's not long to wait for us both now :)

Although I'm not packing boxes just yet, I have picked a new sofa out!
I've got a whole trello board of ideas for my new place!
Admittedly I'm stasrting from near scratch seeing as I've only lived in London for a few years and always in places which have been fully kitted out... so it's actually smart to have lists of what I need which can be bought in a sensible order instead of turning up and realising I don't even have a spoon or a bowl.

  • Morning everyone, just an update on our situation.  We are almost like FTB, nothing to sell, no chain.  Offer accepted 23 November 2020 on an empty 2016 built property.  Mortgage approved, solicitor engaged by December 2020.  According to our property portal, we are still only 15% along, our mortgage offer runs out mid June 2021.  I've increased my pestering with my solicitor.  We were told local searches were taking 12 weeks, due back in June!  I spoke to the solicitor last week and paid an extra £50 for a speedier premium search, she said the results of which would be due yesterday.  Nothing.  Today I have had an email from the solicitors saying:

"The search company has requested for a different title plane of the property.  All of the available title plans has now been sent to the search provider."

Can anyone tell me what this means?  We are getting very stressed now.  No contracts exchanged, nothing signed......

Did they explain why they didn’t request searches in December? Unless there’s some complication you don’t mention that timeframe sounds ridiculous. I’d be chasing them on a near daily basis for clear updates and progress. If you’d aren’t satisfied then complain.

Hoping for good news for everyone waiting. Not only am I moving but my parents and in-laws too; it's become a jokey race to see who will complete first.
May 8th - viewed house, offer accepted.
May 10th - solicitors and surveyor instructed
May 12th - survey booked for 28th and told vendors were arranging their solicitors

28th is our planned completion date and we're 6 out of 7 which also makes me mega nervous 😂

Exciting update from me!  After it all kicking off yesterday with deeds not being signed and me having a rant as our vendors are about to pull out.....

Agent called me, the plan is to exchange next week and complete the 28th.  I'm hesitant about a Friday before bank holiday as we're a chain of 7 but something with another party has happened and it's that or right at the end of June.  So we're going with it!

    Happy dance 😁

Aw brilliant news, I really hope this all comes good for you :-) There is hope for us all!
