It's soooo painful. Just had my dad on the phone and he kept asking why we're having to wait. I explained my latest theory, which involves a zombie/vampire/dalek attack on the whole office that's willfully ignoring calls.

Really wish I'd taken some early advice I read on this thread about telling as few people as possible about the move, cos the pain of endless explanations will grind you down.

It's also been painful watching two of my neighbours putting 'Sold' signs up this week. Willing to bet they'll be out before us...😭🤣

My friend oppositeswent on the market, sold and completed and I'm still here 😂 she did it all in 3 months.... Sigh.

I'm at the point where it's just washed over me now.... Literally nothing for me to do, or that I can do so sort of forgotten about it until I get the green light and frantic packing and removal company hunting can begin!

This is what persuaded me to join the forum.  It's giving me the illusion of progress!

That's terrible. Sounds like they were hoping process would drag on long enough that they wouldn't have to reveal this. They 100% knew - we're porting our mortgage to avoid those charges, but they're all spelt out anyway (if we don't complete quickly enough after exchange). Not something you can miss...unless they didn't bother reading details - but that's just as bad. Feeling your frustration.

Thanks for the reply birdmadgirl8. They have been dragging their feet. It took them nearly 10 weeks to provide the draft contract pack. 

It's the lack of courtesy that's puzzling. Why agree an exchange and completion date only to change your mind on the day? I could have hired movers, taken time off work etc. Why not say before? 

I am partly tempted to just leave this particular house. It's not even my dream house 😂
