Happy birthday Speky!!!
Thanks for starting the thread Karcher, I hope your ongoing problem can be resolved soon.
Could you go to bed a bit earlier Holly so it doesn't matter so much that you are waking early? When school is on, I'd got quite used to waking up at 4:30/5, my problem is I can't sleep through the night without needing a wee!
I really feel for you TA, that's an awful lot of appointments. Maybe you should book a long weekend away if a whole week without appointments never seems to come!
I had a lovely OS day yesterday, I put it on the OS pleasure thread though so won't repeat myself! Today, is a lot more rainy, so will probably enjoy the last day of OH's time off and also get some bits done in the house. Had a huge lie in but the boys have woken us up arguing yet again so might have to leave the house and escape at some point! Had planned to use the last of the milk watered down a bit to make porridge for us all so we can have a decent breakfast before I need to do a post-holiday shop, but unfortunately DS1 has taken it upon himself to use all the remaining milk for his breakfast cereal leaving none for the rest of us grrrr. He's only 10 (nearly 11) so it would never cross his mind to check the milk situation, it just magically replenishes doesn't it! LolAug 2017 GC Budget £1800 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) if you need one.
Happy birthday Specky, hope you have a good day.
Typical, it was not raining when we got up, so towels in the washer, its hissing down!! it is forecast to get better at lunch time, so the towels will stay in the washer till then.
Freezer audit, menu plan and shopping list done for tomorrow.......
OH is going to walk down to the PO for his spending money cash and the TV choice, sooner him than me.
Emmwri, could you not have some dried milk in? its an acceptable alternative for cooking if you run out of fresh milk. It has saved me a few times.
Our neighbour across the road was taken into hospital on Friday, not the one who lost her husband, OH saw her yesterday, apparently she 'died' in the ambulance on the way to hospital, they had to stop on the road side for resuss, she was sent home on Sunday!!! I have not spoken to her myself, but it sounds as though she was very lucky.
I found a large piece of fabric yesterday so the last bag I was commissioned to make has been cut out, this one is an over the body bag, so the strap is going to be a bit of a problem, it means I cannot make the bag and lining as I usually do, I am going to have to make them separately and then sew the lining in.......hmmmmmm, its ages since I made a bag that way, and not something I want to repeat. The fabric frays like the devil so has had to be overlocked.

Good morning all,
Speky :bdaycake::bdaycake:Happy Birthday, hope you have a nice time with family tonight. There has to be cake ,it's the law!
TA & Karcher- hugs :grouphug:
We've had torrential rain this morning.I had to change out of my clean on jeans when I got back from dogwalking.Seems to be easing off a bit now. After a gloomy start yesterday it turned warm & sunny in the afternoon, which DGS and I spent in the park,I couldn't get him home till teatime. He gravitates to older children and there were more around as it is now school hols. They think he is cute, but he's a bit of a daredevil too on some of the equipment  so I hover around,I'd prefer him not to have any broken limbs on my watch!
I was going to go to town this morning but thought better of it.I was meant to meet an old friend/former colleague in the next town but she altered the date yesterday as her car has to go into the garage.I need more milk but DS will pop & get some later.I try and keep a spare in the freezer and thats now defrosting.I think tea will be breaded fish & chips, not the most popular meal with the men but they'll have to like it or lump it :rotfl:Think DGD is here later.
Might get my patterns out and see what to make next, but all being well I am going to a good craft shop with 2 cousins tomorrow, and lunch out so perhaps I should wait and see if I buy anything-they sell a range of patterns that I quite fancy, more for autumn/winter though.
Have a good day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all
Specky :bdaycake: Many happy returns of the day, enjoy yourself :dance:_party_ and I hope you get spoilt rotten :rotfl:.
It's been light rain here but it's still warm. Had to go to surgery to collect DH's prescription and also tried to book him in for an oncology blood test. It appears now that he can no longer have it at the surgery only at the local hospital, but they only do it on Mondays or Wednesdays . So we are not happy bunnies .
On the way home called around to B&M for some storage bags and also bought the piggies some extra sweetcorn treats.
TA I understand about frustration re the appointments etc. Sometimes you don't know whether you're coming or going as it takes over your life. So if you need to offload at any time I shall always offer my support.
Karcher If you tried to miss an afternoon nap, would that help you sleep longer tonight ? I'm rubbish sleeping at night if I've napped during the day.
I am going to renew a broken slat in my vertical blind this afternoon ( I have spares ) with DH's help. Shhhh :shhh: he doesn't know anything about that yet, I'll ply him with a coffee first !
Dad is coming to tea and we will have chinese style pork strips, ribs, chips and peas. Don't know about pudding, probably something with ice cream I think.
Have a good day everybody and hugs to those who need or want themFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0
