He came out and yelled at me on Sunday - I suspect he listens to us at times somehow cos we haven't been out in the garden!

Fence was finished today. Predictably Mum isn't happy but she really did upset today. She knows I am doing everything I can but I think it is a mix of guilt that we are having decent life and getting things done (many of them things she and my sister/bil were meant to do) and she is completely torn, I am doing things, fixing, tidying, solving, as it is all I can do, I can't force my sister to leave the house, I can't make my BIL better. I can only straighten up the house and garden and the reality is nothing can actually make her happy. She feels too much guilt. She is glad about the fence but has definitely regressed to a few year post losing Dad when she was utterly miserable and it was hell due to the situation with my sister.

so although this is a good thing I am sad there was no celebration just mum being sad.

But I went and paid the builder, who is lovely that was a positive. And everyone else is happy for me and I feel so much better.

Glad the fence is done Buffy. I'm afraid life goes on and you can't put everything on hold just because BIL is ill. Your mum needs to understand that.

  • Eventually Mum and I had a bit of a heart to heart. She is really worried about my sister and we both spoke about how much we can't do and what should we do. I mean I cannot fathom how she is coping. Simply cannot.

But it was good for Mum and I to get it all out in the open.

All we can do is push on and hope for better.
