Change of plan for us! This afternoon's middle DGD's sports day has been combined with youngest DGD's sports tomorrow (school saw Tuesday's forecast was much better!) and scuppered our plan of having early lunch out en route to the school! So we decided instead to just go out and have late lunch instead - thus letting the lunchtime rush die down and enjoy it in peace! I am having to restrain myself from ransacking the cake tin as I am starving as we normally have lunch about 12.30! Intend leaving here 2.00 ish xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Lamewolf When she had to pay she just said, oh I've forgotten my card and stared at me, no apology.
I don't socialise. I don't have friends, I can't do small talk, so didn't know what to do.
As soon as we had eaten they left.
Seriously though, I'm like you; no RL human friends, can't do small-talk - all my RL friends have four paws, fur and a tail. And none of them give me any degree of hassle. :rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Now that sounds blatant and not a mistake at all! So sorry you had that experience, especially as you'd been invited.
Rocking the boat...I'd have tipped it over! Are you going to ask for your money back?
Csarina - I have no idea about mops, sorry. I've only ever had one, and that was a recent buy, so picked up a vileda. In my previous place we had non-slip flooring in the bathroom, it had masses of up-dimples which made cleaning it very difficult. I had a deck brush for it.
Sun is a-blazing and I'm a-lazing!

Please put me out of my misery and tell me what hush puppies are in terms of food; at the moment I have a very Pratchett-esque vision of "boots and mud" (I forget which novel that was mentioned in, but it was one of his):rotfl:0

Afternoon all
We have been to town this morning and I treated myself to some new wooden pegs, I know how to live the high life ! A quick trip to Al*i the way home for some fruit etc. and their British plums are lovely, very sweet and juicy.
The WM has been on again today, so 3 loads washed and dried, 2 on the whirly and 1 still in the machine. (Luckily not much of it will need ironing)
I have tidied away the debris from the DGC yesterday, emptied the DW and refilled it.
DD is coming up later with her 3 Guinea Pigs for me to "piggy sit" while they are away.
I have also had two disturbing phone calls from elderly neighbour, one Sat and one Sunday. She told me that there was a man in my garden whilst we were away, who disappeared into the outside loo and didn't come out. Then that she had a woman in her kitchen selling flowers and who only came to her house when it was dark . She asked me to go round but I refused as I had the DGC here so she asked me not to send her away. This morning another ambulance arrived, but they didn't take her to hospital. I think if I have more disturbing calls I will have to contact her family again, because I can't keep going round to her house all the time or pretending that she's "normal". I know the signs of dementia as dear MIL went the same way.
Nelski many hugs for today.
Judi glad to here about prodigal, hope that you can rest easy and enjoy your break.
JackieO The boat that rocked is one of my favourite films
AOD I'm also curious as to " hush puppies ". Please put me out of my misery as I'm imagining you chewing on some old shoes :rotfl:
Anyway enough babbling, I'm off to hang out the last of the washing.
Enjoy the rest of today everyone.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon all,
Warm here, not much sun, threats of showers later, will get a while in the garden, pots need to be weeded.
It will be a quiet day today, might bake a cake, dinner will be chicken, new potatoes, spinach, mashed carrots and parsnips.
DS1, DDIL and DGD2 coming back from Japan tomorrow....I have been in the airport 6 times in last 3 weeks, hopefully next time will be when DD3, DSILto be and DGD7 come back from Australia in September.
Hugs to all in need or want of some.

Found this - http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/uncategorised-recipes/hush-puppies/ cheesy beer battered bread?
I've had to come in from the garden into the cool of the house. Never been known here!
My brain is going ten to the dozen about a new garden project which I really need to think through properly. :j0 -

No I won't mention it.
DiL has the 'trump' card, our DGS.
I did think it might have been done on purpose, but I'm not good at reading situations, only about 30% of the bill was ours.
I want DGS to have memories of his Grandad. If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0
