Morning all,
Looks like it might rain soon, the park was very soggy underfoot and quite a few branches down too.It was also very quiet, only met 1 couple out with their dogs. What a difference school holidays make, and on the roads too!
I quite often go to town on a Monday morning but as I potentially have 2 lunches out this week I'd better save the pennies.Silver-oldie I'd probably have to end up doing the washing up in the kitchen- I only tend to take just enough cash out and a little bit over for my own lunchbut it is difficult when you need to tread carefully & I quite understand.
Hugs Nelski
Hope doggy order restored soon Tru.
The house is pretty tidy as we had friends round on Saturday night and no DGC yesterday, apart from our bedroom where I shoved the ironing basket etc,so I'll probably do that and then look at my patterns and fabric and see what I can make next.
Hope you have a good day xxSave:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Did you have to pay for both of you? Going Dutch is one thing and a bit of a surprise but paying the lot is a real cheek. :mad:silver-oldie
I just saw your post and can see why you don't want to "rock the boat". Very carefully not saying anything that can be taken the wrong way but maybe a bit thoughtless of them.
I suppose I be grateful it wasn't a posh restaurant.
DiL ordered and then she said she had forgotten her card so I paid .
I'm always afraid to say anything in case we loose what little time we spend with DGS, and DH gets 'upset' if there is a bad atmosphere. If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -

Very passive aggressive of me but if there is a next time I would be tempted to not have my card either but be paying in carefully counted out pound coins etc."This site is addictive!"

Morning all
Sunny here so the washing machine is on. DH is putting the makings of cottage pie in the slow cooker.
We are just finalising the arrangements for looking after DGS tomorrow as his mummy is on a full day course. She has suggested that he stays all day at nursery and is going to find out if there is any room in thhe afternoon session. She leaves at 8am so we will have to be at hers to look after DGS and take him to nursery. Luckily she only lives 5 mins away in the car.
Judi enjoy your holiday.
Camelot don't overdo it at the gym hun.
Have a good day folks.

Morning all - not many emails in my inbox for once, to I thought I'd grab a few minutes here.
Tru it seems to me Scampi is doing his very best, but not being helped by conflicting instructions - I don't wonder he looks to you for confirmation of what he's supposed to do. We have tickets for the theatre tonight - Ruth Rendell's "A Judgement In Stone" directed by Roy Marsden. I hope we don't bump into anyone we know while we're there - it always fazes me when that happens and it's not expected, as I have mild prosopagnosia, and invariably don't recognise them, so end up feeling really foolish. Mr LW tries to remember to give me a "heads-up" as to who it is, but he doesn't always remember to do so.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all, Holly thank you for starting us off today.
I had a dreadful night but so far am not feeling desperately tired. I'm on a day off and have just spent 2 and a half hours ironing. There's another load in the machine and the sun has finally come out so that will go out.
I will Hoover now and then that's all I plan to do in terms of housework, other than make a meal. Sausages and mash with greens and gravy. Not exciting but that's ok for a weekday. Last night was ribs, southern fried chicken, hush puppies and chips (oven chips I am afraid). With humungous salad.
Judi, that's positive news. Hope those who are on holiday or preparing to go have a great time, and wishing everyone a happy day.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Just a quickie, can someone recommend a mop, my vileda mop has given up the ghost....bits keep falling off it. I need something sturdy to cope with the non slip surface in the bathroom, I am going to buy an old fashioned scrubbing brush, but realistically I can only manage to scrub the floor every couple of weeks and I know I will find that difficult. I did wonder about getting a ceck brush, that might save my knees a bit. I can kneel down but not for long and getting up can be a real problem!!0

I agree with this; did she not apologise and say she'd pay in full next time? If it was a genuinely forgotten card, I'd have thought that would be the polite thing to do. But I don't really socialise, so I may be talking garbage.
.
Elona Good idea. I didn't have much money with me so I think I was in shock and just gave my card.
Lamewolf When she had to pay she just said, oh I've forgotten my card and stared at me, no apology.
I don't socialise. I don't have friends, I can't do small talk, so didn't know what to do.

Good Morning all (ooops no its not its afternoon!!)
JUDI so pleased you have, at least, heard from him. Hope you have a nice break away.
Well weekend was busy with fair on Sat and family round yesterday but all in all a fabtastic weekend was had. Sun was splitting the sky yesterday but there was a nice breeze and most of the day was spent with the kids in the garden and walking the doggle.
Today my lovely boyfriend has cut the back grass for me and I've deadheaded the flowers in the front garden. I've also put on 3 loads of washing 2 of which are on the line already and the last has just 4 mins remaining.
Suppose I had better think about going to work nowdon't really want to when its so sunny and nice but needs must!
Hope everyone has a great day xxEmma

Good afternoon everyone, thanks to Holly for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one with a special hug to Nelski on this hard day.
silver-oldie seems like a rock and hard place situation and that your DIL is well aware that you don't want to rock the boat.
It's lovely and sunny here so the garden beckons this afternoon with my book and a cuppa.
After having had visitors over the last few weeks my fridge has lots of bits needing used up. So I've made a list so stuff doesn't get wasted and I'm going to make a big bowl of slaw to cover lunches for a few days.
I hope everyone has a good day x0
