    Morning

Sad day for me today its Dads birthday so will be thinking about him even more than normal. Taking mum to lunch after the usual shopping trip and we can spend some time remembering the fun times.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday.

Although I worked on Sunday I had a fairly relaxed weekend. Nothing much to report. Cleaned the flat from top to bottom, done the ironing, emptied the DW, so I'm ready to rock and roll for the week ahead - again, not that I've much planned.

I've agreed with my friend that we should go to the gym earlier, starting today. So we're there for 6.30am and ready to rock. This usually give us an hour or so to do our thing, so I feel more productive.

Playing 7-a-side football tonight, but i'll resign myself to the goals to avoid injury again.

Annnddd yet again, I've forgotten to take some meat out the freezer. Damn it.

    Good morning everyone.

Could be a glorious day here, my fingers are closely crossed. Yesterday was lovely too, I spent most of in the garden just sitting. By the time I decided it was time to cut the grass (HOW fast does that stuff grow ) the sky had darkened and the temperature had dropped.

About 20 mins ago I decided I'd try to get on a boat trip round the whirlpool as they usually leave round 10'sh...not today, it goes out at 9am so not enough time.

There's no washing to be done so I may well just jump in the car and head somewhere though sitting in my garden on my new chair is still very tempting.

Silver-oldie - how blooming rude of your 'friend'. I wouldn't be going with them again, it's so hard to get rid of such a bad taste.

Tru - right will always win out, I'm glad that peace reigns again.

Special thoughts to Nelski, enjoy your time with Mum sharing happy memories.

Virtual hugs all round - I hope everyone has a happy Monday.

    Morning everyone,

It's very wet here this morning, it rained for most of yesterday as well but the garden is loving it, our lawn is a mass of clover and buttercups :)
The washing will have to wait as I don't like putting it on the airers when it's so damp outside as well, think I will have a good sort through my books and ear mark a batch to go to the CS as the shelves are groaning a tad! The pantry cupboard could also do with a good sort through as well.

Hugs Nelski the first birthdays / anniversaries are always so tough x

Have a good day folks x

We don't see our grandson often, although they don't live that far away. Hadn't seen him for nearly 5 weeks. Have no idea when we will see him again so 'grab' every chance we can.

Did you have to pay for both of you? Going Dutch is one thing and a bit of a surprise but paying the lot is a real cheek.

Hugs. Special dates are so difficult, especially the first year.

Family get together on Saturday and it seemed so strange to see DH's cousins without him being there in the thick of it. Had seven of us for lunch yesterday and a neighbour who was passing offered to let DH and husband park their car on his drive as our drive was full, which was so sweet. I made a huge beef and mushroom pie with a potato pastry topping and then a chicken , mushroom and tarragon recipe which I put into ramekin dishes and topped with circles of the potato pastry. I added some mashed potato, gravy and lots of fresh green veg and it went down really well. I had lots left over so put it into lidded individual containers and gave some to DDs, SIL and boyfriend.

The last of the dishes, oven trays etc have been put in the dishwasher this morning and once I have cleared all the surfaces later and hung out some washing I am planning on making some home made soup. Back to trying to eat healthier as I am sick of sore and swollen feet and knees etc.

    Hugs to all

  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Judi, so glad that prodigal seems to be trying, have a good break. Nelski special hugs for you today.

I thought it was winter when I woke up, so dark, its very overcast although there is no rain forecast, not holding my breath, I have stripped the bed, will get the washing dry one way or another.

Just done the weekly readings for gas and electric, it would not take the gas one, we had only used 1 unit last week!! The balance stays the same. We are well in credit with the electric, guess I may be getting some dosh back at some point, or putting the payment down again. Our electric use is pretty consistent, but the gas will go up once the heating goes on at the end of October.

Monday clean to do, I have stopped asking OH to help me with the duvet cover, I found a video on you tube and manage it on my own, no more moaning.....its wonderful!!

Gammon salad with jacket spuds for supper, the rhubarb had gone nuts again so pulled some more, froze some and cooked the rest will have it with some cream tonight for dessert.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome yesterday :)

    Thanks for starting thread holly
Hugs to you nelski I hope you and your mum can enjoy special memories together today

Love and hugs to everyone else, viewing on my phone as not at home and I can't scroll very well!

Today is our last day in Cornwall, we are travelling back later. Had a lovely last day at st michaels mount and then a delicious seafood meal in st ives. We need to be out of the caravan by 10, so I need to get my skates on packing. DS1&2 are bickering and OH is getting in the way, so I'm having a cuppa and leaving them to it for a bit!
We are planning to go to the pool later (DS2 got a certificate yesterday for swimming his first length so he's keen to get back in the pool and show off!), then hopefully to st ives for a bit if beach time and to pick up some small gifts for mum, her bf and my dad. Looking forward to seeing the cat later, mum has been giving her love and cuddles for the week.

I just saw your post and can see why you don't want to "rock the boat". Very carefully not saying anything that can be taken the wrong way but maybe a bit thoughtless of them.
