Always remember 'kill by software - revive by software'
and 9 out of 10 hardware problems can be fixed without SMD reworking!
Now the joy stick problem.. Is it a difficult job taking the phone apart? I had a k800i before with the same problem and someone sugested putting something down the side of the joy stick to lift it off it's seat and then reseat it.. I tried and ended up putting a small watch makers screwdriver through the circuit board and killing the phone..:osometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0 -
i would say SE phones are the easiest to take apart (dont get me started on samsungs)
i dont have any experience of replacing joysticks0 -
The phones are a little problematic, but good overall. Mine has a software fault where the camera buton wont work. It needs a power off adn the battery removed to resolve but then dies again in time.
Annoying, but still a good phone overall0 -
K800i's have issues with the joysticks... other than that they're a great phone. If you're confident you can open it up and clean the contacts and put a spot of glue between the pad and the joystick, although not recommended if you've never done this before.
Best bet would be to contact your mobile operator - they will usually help with repairs.0
