I done a major reset after my joystick became very unresponsive on the push down function. Since the reset I have lost the all the LCD contents on the stand by screen like the clock, enevelope and the arrow for missed call.. My joystick is no better either .. The phone used to be so good on the joystick but not no more.. Anyone help me getting my phone back to how it was.. Please..

If the phone is less than 2 years old then take it to a repair centre as the joystick problem is a common fault.0 -

Go to your nearest Carphonewarehouse shop as they are authorised repair centre.
Alternatively you can send it off to Sony Ericsson, the details are on their website.0 -
to get the large clock back
main menu > settings > display tab > clock > big/large
to set up the shortcuts again
main menu > settings > general tab > shortcuts
the joystick will need to be replaced to work better

It's the LCD display I've lost on the grey screen.. I've just spoke to SE but they couldn't book my phone for repair because their computers are down. I've also got no receipt as I bought it off ebay so I will probably have a large bill for the repair.. Thanks gaming_guy and reddwarf2002 for your replies..sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0

just the grey screen.. It used to have the time, envelope for a text and the return arrow for a missed call but nothing now.. only grey..sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0 -
sounds to me like the display driver has corrupted, or the LCD has gone.
if its the display driver it will need a software reload (which can be done for free).
if its the lcd, be prepared to shell out around £25-£350 -
I think Edna might mean the standby screen, I think there is an option for turning the clock back on, settings, display, sleep mode clock, I think!0

Before doing anything drastic, use SEUS to update the firmware and before wading in and relacing the joystick, dismantle the phone and spray the joystick with contact cleaner.
