I"m having a slight school shoe dilemma aswell, my 2 bigger boys attend an learning support unit, it was recently refurbished and they only wear school shoes in the morning and home and change into trainers/gym shoes in class to save the floors. So I'm considering cheaping out and getting them a cheap pair each, they aren't the play outside kind of children anyway so won't destroy them. But I'd have to buy my middle child good shoes as he's in them all day and it very hard on shoes and that seems unfair so I'm unsure. I could cheap out and buy them all cheap shoes until the next clark sale I suppose but then I might not have the money.
Treating your children all fairly and equally doesn't mean you have to treat them all identically. Your middle child needs more hard wearing shoes that will last because he's in them for longer and is 'heavier' on shoes that his older brothers. The older two don't need them in the same way. Do it and save some cash and don't beat yourself up about it.

    Happy Monday folks.

Had a lovely lazy weekend, had a few spends on sat I'll need to dig out the receipts to get the totals.

I've decided to order all the boys kangol shoes off sports direct. They are a good price and are leather so will hopefully last. Will be doing that tomorrow when my dla comes in.

I should get another £5 amazon voucher off swaybacks tomorrow so I'm up to £15 now

Yesterday and today are nsd bringing me up to 10 which isn't had considering it's the middle of the month.

I also paid another £100 off my Debenhams card, I don't know if I said but I paid another £200 off my vanquis at the end of last week aswell.

I think I'm doing ok so far this month. my cars booked in to go to the specialist at the start of sep but the actual cost wasn't too bad considering the work involved.

Morning guys, shoes ordered. Still counting this as a nsd (I Haven't been counting bills and uniform is a bill) my bankcard wouldn't go threw on sports direct it kept saying I need to add my phone number to my banking which I did a few months back, so I put it on my Debenhams card which I was all logged in ready to pay off then decided to pay it off my vanquis card instead, I £82(got some gym bags aswell) and paid off £200, the dd to it also came out meaning I only owe £418 on it now, it was £961 this time last month :j I'm determined to get it gone before the next bill is due and the way the balance is coming down I really think I'll be able to do it!

I also cashed out another £5 amazon voucher, thats £15 already this month :)

Great progress! Glad you made a decision on the shoes for your kids too and got a good price on them. They can be so expensive.

You've halved your Vanquis bill in a month - it would be amazing to get it gone by next month. I always think shifting a whole card is so motivational :)

School shoes usually cost us £40 each so it was half price. I've been looking for gym bags that aren't drawstring as one of my boys likes to take the strings out so at £5 each they were good and should last a few years for P.E kits.

The vanquis card looks great but actually I"ve added to my other card and a tiny bit to PayPal this month aswell. Don't get me wrong I will pay it off and I will reach my £600 paid of debt target for this month but I won't have actually cut £950 from my debts.

I forgot to put the slow cooker on :o normally this would result in a Chinese but I quick dig in the freezer and we are having steak pie, mash and pea's. Which is just the perfect food for todays weather anyway.

Well saved on the chinese front! WE have very little in the freezer other than chicken nuggets, frozen veg, ice lollies and some frozen meat, so we'd be stuffed. Maybe we should think about emergency freezer meals more... hmm... food for thought.

I always have a bag of chips and some fishfingers in my freezer (saying that I don't right now but only cause I'm running it down to defrost) but it's usually saved for if I'm sick cause hubby just throws it in. if I'm not sick and forget dinner it's takeaway lol.

It's my birthday at the weekend, I'm trying to decide if I want the planned takeaway or if a nice steak and homemade chips (remember I got a new chip pan lol, have to get my moneys worth) would be better. Not a huge difference in price tho, only around £5 and I will still have to make the dinner. I'll see how I feel come the weekend. I do love Chinese!

Another great emergency freezer meal is shepherds pie. freeze your own in the oven tray (I have a few dolmio ones I got free from Iceland ages ago) and if you forget dinner cover it in foil so it doesn't dry out and cook from frozen. it's all pre cooked so you won't get sick and just take the foil off for the last 10 mins. I make 2 all the time and freeze one for later. (I usually put it in as soon as I turn the oven on aswell so the dish heats slowly with the oven, that way my dish shouldn't crack)

Yesterday did not end well for me, it was a rather stressful day which resulted in me breaking a kitchen drawer, breaking a plate and burning myself. hubby said drawer should be a cheap fix tho, my dishwashers has also been broken for over a week. So as of today I've started to skim my bank account to try gather up a few pennies for Christmas and to fix stuff when they break. I'm at £13.22 already. I Haven't been saving much because I feel it's better spent on debts so I save on interest. On that note my cards have added £102 interest this month!
