Morning all, not much to report today except I closed the credit card I managed to pay off last week. 1 down 9 to go!!!

I've also updated my signature, but don't worry I Havent added to my debts I've put it back to what I owed at the start of this month when I first started trying to sort stuff out. Then I can update it monthly, also the bigger green number is good motivation :)

Subscribed (and you're helping me with my journey start at the same time!).

And yes, different situation to the norm, similar to me.

Totally get the problems with finance packages. When we got built-in wardrobes, it came to over £2000 at 0% finance. 0% = great, but having a line-item in my budget drawn out for so long is annoying.

Any big changes to the house I'll do when we can release money from the mortgage when renegotiating. I'll do patchups until then!

Also giving away clothes like you, but for no financial reward!

    Credit Card: -£2598.23 / Personal Loan: -£18,093.67

I have a 0% sofa and a 0% table aswell. To be fair In those cases I can see the benefit of 0% if you really need something and atleast your not paying interest and in my case because I bought mine in a sale I'm also now paying over the odd's. I'm refusing to do anymore work to my house. it was so stressful and messy with 4 kids. We ended up with ceilings down and floors dug up, brush water pipes, it was a mess! I still have no skirting boards in my living room and dining room.

I'm mostly focusing on my credit cards. I have the 2 household items at 0%, a payment to apple for last years Christmas presents, a monthly payment for my MacBook, a tv and finance on a car and a motorbike aswell. However all of these will be paid off with minimal or no interest if just alone so I don't count them, I'm just dealing with my problem debts for now.

Hi there, just wanted to stop by your diary and reciprocate the support :)

You've already made massive inroads to your debts, and you're only a month in so that must be really encouraging! Almost 5% paid off already and you've only been going a few weeks. I've been going 5-6 months and I'm only at around 19% so I think that's pretty decent!

    All the best.
    CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

July debt total: £24,630.44 | New debt total: £18,316.34 | Total debt paid: £6,414.10 (26%)

Thank you, as I'm not too worried as I know if I stick to my plan I'll manage. It is unlikely I will manage to pay this much off every month but aslong as I pay some off it will all add up. hoping to have 50% paid off for the start of summer holidays next year.

I am in the lucky position in having no debt (but only just out of it and slipped back so many times) but I still love the challenges as they are helping me stay on track.

we are getting so close to the end of the month its time to set some new ones

are you setting yourself any challenges/targets for the coming month
    Emergency fund £10,000
    Several categories with savings in
    Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
Etc I have about 10 categories

Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender

Happy Wednesday everyone. Not much happening here today, not much ever happens here near the end of the month as money is always abit tight. We are having leftover mince and potatoes for dinner tonight. I forgot to lift bread out of the freezer so it's gonna be cheese on toast for lunch. another nsd, which is always a plus :)
