And so it begins: The Pig Vs The Mortgage

I may have mentioned that I'm sleeping well at the moment (down to trying to stick to a routine and drinking sleepy tea last thing at night) which is great but using my sleep quota resulted in me waking at 5.15 this morning:p. Rather than reading, which was terribly tempting I actually got up and got some stuff done. I won't be making a habit of it but I got the laundry folded and put away, changed the bed (so much easier now I have a spare set), did a freezer dive ready for dinner and gave my bedroom a good dust and a proper hoover (actually moved stuff). Let's just say its a good job I don't have asthma or allergies:o. Really must do it more often!
Work was good and I treated myself to an early finish:D. I used the time to do some 'life laundry' and filed my receipts and called about my boiler insurance that they kindly offered to renew at nearly £5 more a month than they were offering new customers:mad: Was on hold for an age but they've renewed at the lower rate. Got to be on your toes with these beggars haven't you? Its a good policy though, covers the boiler and the heating system, no call out fees and includes an annual service. It gives me peace of mind:)
Other money news is the weekly food shop came to £20.13 as most of meals are based around a ys joint from the freezer which I picked up in the post Christmas sales. This keeps me under my new lower budget for the third time this month. I had an additional spend of £4.99 on a fitted sheet as when I hung mine up to dry its was so thin and bobbly and quite frankly past it I decided it was fit for dusters. Luckily Aldi have some in the reduced section. It's a lovely duck egg blue and feels rather luxurious, not to mention bobble free:D
Other mfw/well being successes included;
Wiped down kitchen units and swept the floor
Sewed up the holes in my favourite running socks, a button on a gifted blouse and did a minor repair to my dressing gown which have been sat around waiting to be done for weeks.
Lo for lunch and freezer dive for dinner.
Found and started go defrost chilli for an easy dinner tomorrow night so only have to cook some rice and open a bag of tortilla chips:)
Went for a run as my class was cancelled due to a leak:eek:
I'm now off to enjoy my lovely new sheets:rotfl:
Happy Thursday to you

Baby steps but all in the right direction. Just need to keep focussed on the progress and not get overwhelmed by the timescales! Easier some days than others:p. Glad all your exciting plans are coming to fruition.
There really are, PP :j

It certainly would Karma, shall we try for once a month? It'll be a massive improvement on what I do now :rotfl:

Friday yey:j:j:j. What a blooming week!
Had a nice morning at work then a right blinking mad rush to get to a funeral:( It was a, lovely service reflecting on a long life, very well lived. Food for thought...
Ds is at a party which I'm glad about as he seems a bit low:( Hope its just teenage hormones but I'll keep a close eye. He's under pressure at school, is uncertain about what he wants to do next. Its a tough time on the back of a few years of tough times. Love him to bits and I hate to see him worried and sad:(
DD is the other extreme and is really enjoying her job, has a lovely boyfriend, loads of plans for the year ahead and is positively bouncing:). The twists and turns of parenting I guess.
I've no money news other than a nsd and a 50p tt. Its been a busy day but I've managed some successes;
Laundry in wm
Lo for lunch and batched cook chilli from the freezer for a nice,easy dinner
Dry bedding folded and put away
Drank lots of water
I've heard lots of good things around these parts about 30 day shred so I invested £2.64 of my personal spends in a copy to add a bit of variety to my exercise and to try and gain some serious tone before bikini season :eek: (as you know from recent confessions I have a few:o:rotfl:).
It arrived today and I did level 1 which I enjoyed as it was pacey and varied but I wasn't in the sweaty heap I like to be after a work out so after dinner (once it had settled!) I had a go at level 2 which resulted in much more sweat:rotfl: I think I'll stick with this rather than starting at level 1. I'm not sure if you're meant to do it consecutive days. Does anyone have any advice? I've decided to get up 20 minutes earlier and get it done before work. I always used to exercise in the morning but got out of the habit. I'm p!anning on doing it alongside my normal routine. Am I mad?:eek:
Tomorrow's to dos are ;
Bit of touching up of paintwork in the rental as the new tenant is due in soon .
Put pizza dough in bm
Shred Day 2:)
Get this week's eBay items ready
Fill green bin with more branches that are currently in a big heap in the garden.
Have some reading time
Have some Ds time. We've food tech assessment prep to tackle :eek:
Going to read for an hour before my taxi services are required:)
Happy, happy weekend to you:)

Morning PP
Thought I'd drop in and have a nosey through your diary since you've been doing the same with mine
:rotfl:
Glad to see some cheery running in there - I have been remarkably slack about running lately but will try to be inspired by you and get out and about to explore my local trails soon - just as soon as it stops bl**dy snowing :mad: :rotfl:
Shred :eek: I thought I'd be able to forget about that, but no:rotfl: I believe you are indeed 'supposed' to do it every single day - I've managed about 7 on the trot before now (with noticeable improvements in fitness and even a bit of toning) but then wimped out
Not done it for ages. Perhaps I should pull my finger out and give it a go - I've been eating rather too much cake lately and being quite physically slovenly (apart from moving a load of boxes etc, that is...)
Anyway, subscribing to your diary to be inspired

Hiya Cheery :wave:, nice of you to pop in:D. I do love my running or at least I love the feel good endorphins. Not easy to get out of the door in weather like this though:eek: Trail running is the best so your new home will be perfect:) xxBetterthanever wrote: »Yup, every day......I'm sure you will feel the benefits! Thought as much:eek: enjoying it so far and 20 mins is great, it goes so quickly:)

More snow :eek: Really wish spring would hurry up , it's so cold. My next gas and leccy statement is due on the 18th and I dread to think how much gas we've used:eek:
The weather meant no outside jobs got done as I was not going out in that! Instead I've done a bit of organising, a bit of relaxing and a bit of shredding:D
I visited mum and dad who are in good fettle and had breakfast with them which was nice. It also meant I got round to pick up dad's paper before he got it into his head to go as he's a bit doddery and Im always worried he'll fall when its slippy underfoot.
I've had another nsd:j I'm finding that keeping away from the shops completely is the best way.
As the house is reasonably clean and tidy (if you discount the kid's rooms:eek:) I did a bit of pottering in the kitchen. I emptied and cleaned out the fridge and got out everything that need using up. It was mainly veg so I put veggie curry in the sc and Thai carrot soup in the PC and pizza dough in the bm. Was very glad of my kitchen gadgets today:). I also chopped up a large container of salad using shredded lettuce, peppers and grated carrot so its there and ready to use over the next couple of days.
Other mfw/well being successes included;
Cheap, healthy eats (porridge for breakfast, Thai carrot soup and ys rolls for lunch and hm pizza and salad for dinner).
Defrosted gammon joint for tomorrow
Shred day 2
Odds and ends of decorating in rental
Helped ds get food tech things ready.
Hung laundry on the airer
Cleared out the wood burner and got it lit early
Caught up two episodes of Shetland
Really tired so off for an early night although I do this so often I perhaps need to accept that 10 pm is just bed time:rotfl:
Happy Saturday to you:)
