Stopping wi-fi overnight

Why do you want to restrict the Wi-Fi?
Is it to stop people using it during the night or are you worried about the perceived health risks?
If the former, that should be easily enough sorted through website filtering but if you actually want the signal to turn off, that's probably more difficult.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
Stop teens using it during the night. No idea how to do website filtering though0

Honestly, a decent wifi router will allow you to set up multiple SSID (wireless network names) which can be managed independantly so you can connect to one, unrestricted, whilst having a differently named one for the kids which you can restrict between certain times.0

Your teens will be tech savvy - it will take them less than a day to find a work around.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Thank you. Where can I go to get advice on which router? Some teens are less tech savvy than you think!0

I'll re-iterate my earlier post and suggest that you make sure that you can get hold of your Sky login details before splashing out on a new router.0

It seems that sky doesn't have an option to turn off.
What?! Surely not! I've never seen a wireless router without the ability to turn off wifi. My Sky router has the option.Have looked at the talk talk community and they seem to be saying that quality during the day will be downgraded if wi-fi turned off.
Nope -- disabling wifi over night, won't affect wireless speeds at any other time.
It should be as easy as ticking/unticking a box in the router settings.0 -
