Stopping wi-fi overnight

I'm increasingly concerned about the wi-fi usage in our house. I want to be able to stop it overnight. Am currently with Sky. Taking out the leads will result in someone else just buying a new one.
It seems that sky doesn't have an option to turn off. Have looked at the talk talk community and they seem to be saying that quality during the day will be downgraded if wi-fi turned off.
Anyone got any experience of this and could advise?

Why not change to an unlimited package0

Talktalk has an option called "Homework Time". This blocks certain websites at a defined time range (which looks as though it can be any time of day or night). It can optionally be switched on or off at weekends. The time period is constrained to having the start and end times on the same day ie. you can have 1am-6am, but not 10pm-4am, and there is only one timer.
This is how they describe it:-Homework Time
Help prevent distractions in the afterschool routine by setting time limits to block social networking and gaming websites.
Blocks access to popular online gaming sites including World of Warcraft, Yahoo Games and many more.
Time limit works across all computers, smart phones and other gadgets connected to the internet through your wireless router.
Unfortunately, the trend at the moment seems to be to remove features from home routers, although it might be possible to acquire your own that has the feature(s) you are looking for.0 -
You can use the schedule function to control times devices can access the Internet

Usage by who? Why not just change the WiFi password?0

Buy your own router that has the functionality you require.0

Ah, but the OP is on Sky who, I believe, are very reluctant to give you your login.0

Thank you very much everyone. I'm not tech savvy so will go into a shop and try and find a router that enables me to do this. I will also look at the youtube tutorial. The homework time looks fab although I'd like it from 11-8am.0

Put a galvanized bucket over the router at night?

I could've sworn at one time Sky had a feature to allow for restricted usage during certain times? It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
