Is my usage high?

  • I didn't think Virgin told usage. As far as I was aware it was only PlusNet and Zen? I am currently with Vodafone and they don't tell me my monthly usage.

Look like my monthly usage is about 1200GB.

I'll stick with virgin and try to get a new router.

I rather doubt your average monthly download is 1200GB :rotfl:

Quoting your total in your original post is equally useless unless that really is your average. You need to look at the last 6 months at least.

Edit: A game like World of Warcraft can eat up around 50GB of your HD.

Streaming on up to three tvs plus music. Amazon prime, Netflix ect.

I've never looked at my usage as i'm with virgin.

Would I be best to stick with virgin?
I pay £35 for the VIVID 150 Fibre.

Are you happy with the service ?
Are you out of contract yet or close ?

If your happy with the service then see what retentions can do once your out of contract.

Use that amount on any FTTC 'unlimited' service, and they'll soon start invoking their fair use policy, and throttling your speed.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Untrue, most of the big boys are now truly unlimited.

We used to be on BT Fibre (limited) and never had a problem. Then we got SkyQ and I found the box set downloads................

I don't think I'll ever be allowed to forget the extra £40 bill :( - but we switched to an unlimited contract (which was actually cheaper after a bit of haggling!) pronto.

I was just guessing based on what my router said I have used in a few days. I do mostly the same stuff each day.

Just had a look today and I've used

    Session Time 3day 02h:27m:40s
    Session Data Downloaded 133,171 MB
    Session Data Uploaded 1,968 MB

If I can keep the router on for the month without a reset, Not much chance of that with this virgin hub though.

I'm quite happy it's just the virgin hub I have issues with but they want me to pay for the hub 3.

I tried retentions and the guy laughed at me and said good luck. He said I download too much for the speed I would get elsewhere.
