I meant RM. I think all strikes should be banned. So many people haven't got unions to fall back on (me included!). All it does is upset a lot of people who rely on this service - no matter how bad it can get!
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
    I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T
  • I've got the best postman ever, always friendly chats to all the old people, instead of just bunging a card through your door always trys to get someone to take your parcel in, or pops it through the window if it's open & still gets the post to us nice & early, I dread him going on hols, as the replacement is so late with the post & is just a "postman" our regular (Ian) is a friendly face & a really nice person. If he needs to strike for more dosh, I think he for one deserves it, though last time the strikes were on I don't think he was too excited about it.
I've got a fab postie :T though i'm gonna miss him this week:cry:
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Married my best friend 15/4/16 :)

^^ Ditto all that ^^ Our postie is lovely, I've really missed him this week, I feel as though a limb has been hacked off without all the post.

I've entered loads of competitions lately, though I'm sure there'll be nothing coming back from there, but on the other side, I've got at least like 10/15 parcels to come from eBay and I sent out a good 8 I think it was on Thursday so I'm terrified if they don't get there as I can't see my buyers being happy about having to wait for the Royal Mail to get their fingers out and compensate for them to be refunded but as someone on Incapacity Benefit due to health issues I can't not spend the money I get from eBay sales on items - it went on food this week

The sooner there's something to rival the Royal Mail the better - if they do this at Christmas there will be a complete and utter uproar and I dread to think what will happen. I'm seriously considering posting Christmas presents and cards in November so they get to their destination.

It's been an absolute !!!! up from start to finish, they may claim to have lots of support from the public but seriously... I haven't spoken to anyone who's in favour of the strike action, most people are !!!!ed about no post for the best part of a week - be they public or business. So many people losing money... I know the RM is in debt, I just hope that they're prepared for the millions they're going to have to dish out in compensation after this month, I know I'll be claiming if anything's gone missing!

This morning in the bank - a postie walked in with a special delivery and 2 young lads happened to see him, one said loudly "Ooooh look, a postie!" and the other goes "What's a postie, daddy?" Everyone creased up and the postie blushed and stalked out of the bank looking rather annoyed.

Please, union and RM people. Get your fingers out - you're not getting the public support you think you are and you're in serious danger of !!!!ing more people off completely if you keep it up! You're just digging yourselves in to a deeper hole what with the amount of compensation claimed for, important things delayed, overtime going to be amounted, parcels that will disappear god knows where and general public feeling. I hope it's settled before Christmas :(

ETA: What really got my goat was the complete lack of forewarning! I had no idea a strike was due/happening until the night before, and I only knew that because a friend had spotted an announcement in the My eBay bit! If you're going to disrupt a massive and important service for the best part of a week, !!!!!! TELL PEOPLE!

When we came back from holiday (early hours of Saturday morning) I was expecting to have to force the front door open over a mountain of post, 'please collect your parcel' etc - but not really very much at all. Maybe around 10 letters & a package (Bourne DVDs).

Now I realise where all my wins are :D Held up at the post office & that is why I don't know about them ;)

Hope they get it all sorted out soon, you don't realise how much you rely on something until it is gone! My bf loves the post arriving as I'm at work & he has free rein over opening any competition looking envelopes, then ringing me to let me know what I won! Poor thing I think he is suffering more than me :D
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out
