I have tried all sorts of combinations now - and still no joy! Have e mailed QED to see what they come back with!
On the subject of adaptors for cars - Argos do a DC adaptor (with 7 various plugs - ranging from 1.5v to 12v)) which should work with this player - The Cat No is 982/9103.
Have ordered a NEXTBASE CAR SUNVISOR KIT FOR SDV17-A from https://www.cd-solution.co.uk at £9.80 (FREE P&P!) - and I think this is a Misprice - when compared to other outlets!
Anyone who finds a decent complete car-kit - let us all know!0 -
Flange wrote:Many Thanks! I have tried loading MP3 from CD as stated - it recognises it as being a CD - but then just plays high-pitched hiss (does same for Jpeg CD). The icons on the side of my player only show "DVD" & "CDAudio" - and no others - is this the same for everybody else - or could I have been fobbed off with an older model?
First things first..... My player says the same as yours on the side.
Secondly..... Are the MP3 files in folders?
I have tried the following.
a) MP3 files on a CD in folders. No good.
b) JPEG files on a CD in folders. No good.
c) MP3 files on a CD. Works fine.
d) JPEG files on a CD. Works fine.
e) MP3 files and JPEG files on the same CD. Works fine. The MSE Dictionary

Not tried all these combo's but I simply made a directory for the MP3's and another folder with JPEGS and burnt them onto a CDRW and as soon as I put the CD in it asked me what I wanted to play either JPEGS or MP3's and they worked fine.0

Now gone up to £119.99 then add £8.72 for delivery. If this isn't taking advantage of customers ...what is? I wouldn't buy from a company who raise prices like this!!!! Also I have read that the flip-up standard dvd players are better for the home. Won't fall backwards so easy.0

I got caught up in the first price rise but I still decided to buy it at 103 quid delivered. Very impressed as it arrived about 28 hours after I ordered it.
A few points:
1. It won't play my dvd+'s recorded on my Liteon set top box, but this is no big deal as I can just reburn them using the pc.
2. I am looking at connecting it to a TV but I don't recognise the video and optical ports. They say they are mini - has anyone seen a cable that will do the job in the video domain - I assume it will be like a small 3.5mm headphone (mono) jack to yellow RCA.
The sound domain probably just needs a mini adaptor for a standard tos link cable - is this correct?
3. Any good cheap portable speakers around?
4. Like everyone else, the cigarette lighter cable would be nice.
All in all, impressed with the professional look and feel of the tablet. My Heart is in the Highlands......0 -

1. Not sure if Liteon uses own type of encoding or the way you may have set it up but in my opinion it should play any disc recorded.
2. TV connection. Yes you are correct in that sound is a 3.5 mm mini stereo jack to 2 x RCA plugs (red, right & black, left) and a yellow 3.5mm mini mono plug to yellow RCA plug .for video. This lead should have been supplied with player, mine was. You can get these at Maplins or any such like store. I plug in to my TV with the camera front inputs and all is fine. You can get a scart adapter for the RCA plugs so that you can use scart socket on TV or video etc.
3. Again any computer type shop would have these from a price from £5 - £200. You get what you pay for and personal choice is what is best for your ears and pocket. Try before you buy on this one.
4. Again try Maplin as they seem to have a good range and on the web.
Hope this helps sheep and in my opinion you have made a good choice of player. Hell I have to say that I bought 3 of them, for me and not Ebay.I am not always right,
But I am never wrong !!0
