Spark Energy and Opos Limit problem

Hi All,
I am having exactly the same issue with Spark and Opos limited. Could this be a collaborated game plan to from Spark and Opos to exact money from their clients.
I stayed in  an Apartment for 6 months in 2016 with Spark energy being the already existing utility supplier for the apartment.  I moved out after 6 months and settled all the bill as confirmed by Spark.  Two years later,  In May 2018, I received an email from Opos saying that my details has been passed to them by Spark for outstanding amount of £66.76. I called up spark to report this issue and they sent me an email that this issue had been resolved with apologies and that they were going to notify Opos about this and to take my details of their records.
Two years later again (in June 2020), I received an email again from Opos asking me to make the same payment of £66.76.and that they were willing for me to pay half of the amount to clear this issue. After much questioning I was told that Spark went into administration in November 2018.
 So the questions are
-Why did Spark sent my details to Opos knowing that I have made no outstanding payments with them?
- Why is Opos refusing to take my details away from their records even after providing an email evidence from Spark apologising for this issue and that I have  no outstanding payments
- Why is Opos asking for half payment even after explaining the whole scenario to them ?
This is totally unacceptable!
Is anyone able to advise?

... because some people will pay them anyway just to make them go away.

Stick to your previous statements, you have the emailed confirmation from Spark that nothing was owed, refer them to that and ask them to provide evidence substantiating the debt if they feel otherwise...
