Today I have managed to find an important notebook which I have a feeling I put 'somewhere safe' before we were away at the new house, but struggled to remember where that was. Either that, or there's something else that's 'somewhere safe' as I remember a conversation with my husband for him to remind me where that somewhere safe was when I couldn't remember. However he can't remember what it was I was hiding or where that somewhere safe was either.....

This evening I've been to a first Tai Chi class which I enjoyed so will sign up for. Been wanting to do this for ages but haven't been able to find a class at a suitable time/location before.

  • Another half full bin liner out, this time from the cupboard in my bedroom. Old toiletries, cosmetics (too old to inflict on anyone else!) and medicinal things mainly. Also, a few bits of costume jewellery for the cs.

Oh and 4 pairs of the most worn out old socks that I've ever seen on anyone bar my husband!

:TOut - 2 pairs of white socks, given to a client in exchange for 2kg damsons :)

    Joyous experiences:
    - rather than a birthday present my friend took me out for a lovely meal and we have chatted and laughed uproariously for 3.5 hours this evening :D
    - a lovely American gent approached our table in the 'gastro pub' and asked if we were regular diners there (my friend thought we were going to get chatted up and thought he was doing a survey :rotfl:) - when we said we were regulars he handed me 2 vouchers for £12 off that he had just been given, 'because he was going back to the US and couldn't make use of them'. How kind was that?
    - wearing my new cardi and top, bought on offer (of course) and being told not only were they lovely but they are a fabulous colour on me
    - the sunshine and the beautiful autumn colours :D:D
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Slinky, that really made me laugh :rotfl:
I am loving Tai Chi. I am sure i will never master it, nor remember many of the names of the moves (high patting horse, White crane spreads its wings, or my favourite move, repulse monkey, which is fab for your back and shoulders!) but it feels soooo good doing it and afterwards comes peace and relaxation :)

Yesterday I kondoed an important assessment. FOUR DAYS EARLY :T. I have never in my life done that before... The lure of a free weekend was too strong :p

I also sent three bags of DS's outgrown clothes to charity.

Our drainage problem was also kondoed without digging up the floor :T.

So the process of making good will start. I am hoping a remodelling of the office might make OH think seriously about all the [STRIKE]shi[/STRIKE] stuff he keeps in there...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    :T Excellent progress, VJsMum!

I have kondo'd a birthday gift and card to a pal and am also making plans for the allotment which will involve the twelve 8 ft fenceposts currently stacked in my shed being put into the fencelines on 9th. This will give me a lot more room.

Also, weather permitting, there will be a b o n f i r e up there on Sunday and quite a lot of the material is stored in the dry in that same shed, which is a hellhole and badly in need of sorting. Sorting which I intend to do, come October. Hope the s p i d e r s will help me out.:p

  • Oh, well done! Bet it feels great (another one here who never completed an assignment until the wee small hours of the day it was due). A woo moment yesterday as a parking space became vacant right outside the charity shop just as I approached, it usually means parking some way away and then a painful walk with carrier-bag burn. I was able to offload two bags of random Komono and a bag of rags.

Not much MK this weekend as I have visitors but I'm very happy as preparing for them is so easy. Cleaning - no problem as the floors are all clear and the bathroom is uncluttered. Making beds - everything for each bed is packaged inside a pillowcase. Tidying- not needed! Ok, I'm not perfect and I've got sewing stuff to put away in the kitchen, but I will NOT be stuffing things into bags to get them out of sight as in former days. And we all know what happens to those bags after the visitors have gone... nothing!

  • I got some information on pensions in the post yesterday so I went through the pension box file and recycled some more old paperwork. Where does it come from? It breeds.:rotfl:

I kondoed another book last night as I had read half the book already.

Hi, just a quick reminder about lightly used toiletries and make-up that you do not want.
"Give and Make Up" is a project that collects toiletries, make up and clothes for women's refuges. An eyeshadow the wrong colour or a body lotion with the wrong scent, they can all be sent here:
    https://www.escentual.com/help-and-advice/about/give-and-makeup/

More details about the project and what they take here:

I don't think they would want my used lipstick especially as I have had a problem with cold sores recently.:D

I did the school run this morning and managed to pass on (by prior arrangements, I didn't just have a car boot sale ;)) one painting, 2 dog beds and a bag of sewing that my wonderful friend offered to do for me.

I'm trying out folding, rather than balling my socks. I'm open to new ideas, but have not yet got to the point of thanking my handbag for its daily services.... :rotfl:

Kondo'd the damsons into the freezer to preserve them! I did boil them, one lot with sugar, one lot with sweetener. I also de-stoned them. Looking forward to eating with brekkie or as a dessert.

One old, bleach-marked t-shirt in rag bag. I had kept it for decorating/gardening but i have one for that, don't need another!

Clothes etc sorted out on the bed, ready to pack for visit to my parents' tomorrow.
Isn't it a thrill to be able to open a drawer and select tops, smalls, nightwear etc from a lovely neat row?!

Two work tasks to deal with - end of month invoice and re-stringing a bead necklace for a client - then final roundup of stuff to pack and I can relax *

*DH has just come, we have had an instant miscommunication about where an item was, why it shouldn't be there and whether we needed to pack it, and now he says I am tense! Doh

Catshark88, I love the idea of a pop up boot sale on the school run :):):)
