My daughter and I found a pair of jeans in Tee Kay that we are sure had more holes in than denim.......I so wanted to ask cashier for a discount as they were so badly damaged:rotfl:

Yesterday I had to take our much loved rescue pet for his final trip to the vet. He had been part of our lives for 12 years - DDs had grown up with him - and had given us much joy. After a shaky start with previous owner, he had a good life with us. Today we will be burying him in his favourite sunny spot in the garden. Neither OH and I are sentimental and it was the right thing to do . However he was a real character and will be greatly missed. It has hit my OH really hard.

    Sorry to read that.xxxx

  • Oh, Igamogam - so sorry. When you've spent twelve years sharing your home and life with them, it's really hard. Distractions, and a few treats, too perhaps, to help you through the first few days. .

Igamogam - so sorry to hear your news about your beloved pet. It's hard, even if you're not sentimental. Don't worry about having a cry, please - it's the most natural thing in the world to feel affection for them.

So sorry to hear you've lost a friend Igamogam, hope you keep distracted and treat yourself and the other little furry friend.

A hoover has left the premises - when DD rented out her flat we brought the almost new hoover here, it's been in the loft. The one at the flat she's in with her BF has picked up its last and is headed for the tip.

Plenty more in that loft but it can wait until the weather is a bit warmer.
  • We just spent 3 hours moving our living room furniture and internet connection around the room.

We threw away about 15 foot of useless cable.:T

I also threw away some dog toys and used up most of the veg making soup.

I used up a household cleaner that I forgot I even had cleaning the bathroom.

Igamogam - so sorry to learn that your loved pet has taken his last journey. He's had a good life with you and your family, something that many are denied. Hugs x

So I manged to sort out bathroom cupboard. Lots of unused lotions potions and body sprays are now in a bag ready for CS. They gave survived the last 3 bathroom cupboard culls so I reckon they have had their chance now and are unloved and unwanted . I have emptied out a few bottles of various things that are almost finished......usually don't like waste but these things have been hanging round a while and have definitely got that 'old' smell about them. All empties have been recycled. Old meds ready to go to chemist for destroying and an old double fitted sheet put out for CS. Everything else folded and put back on shelves neatly......Hmm for how long!!?

Kitchen cupboards emptied out onto worktops......too many OOD packets or dried fruit, nuts and seeds:mad:........Birds will be happy! Will make a list of everything and put it all back tomorrow. Study is a WIP:p

Igamogam - so sorry to hear about your pet. Take care.

silvasava - Bad Nan - loved it!

Quite a bit a KMing going on at the homestead, including getting rid of a very old manky chair, various bedding/clothes (a lot from the 'fabric stash')/other items going to CS and ragbag which is getting out of the house tomorrow.

With some lateral thinking (thanks to this thread) rather than get another mattress for my bed, I have swopped it round for one of the spare bed mattress that was bought at the same time, saving time, money, hassle - brilliant.

I have mostly 'done' the categories and although some need to be revisited, my change in attitude and lateral thinking with consequent results has been the best outcome from this thread and KM this last year. Lots of tidying and re-organising going on - and its' catching - DH is beginning to think that way as well, hence the chair, movement of some furniture and tip visit with some very old tech.

    Getting there .......

Take care, and hugs to people who need them.
    H.

    Hi all,

We have just got back from holidays (the canaries, lovely, thanks for asking :p) - cabin bag only, of course

Tomorrow the builder is coming in to finally start putting together the study from the drains issue we had in September . So this afternoon is a clearing and kondoing of the study, but it starts with the conservatory as that is where all the stuff is going. We will also be clearing out the lounge adjacent to the study as they will be decorated and carpeted together.

So, cover me, I am going in,
I wanna be in the room where it happens
