We found little birds used to get in to the chicken run through the little holes in the chicken wire but then they used to fly back out when we walked in. They can get through surprisingly small gaps!!
Thank you ETE. We found where they were getting in. We'd forgotten to fix the net on part of the door. The holes in the net itself are too small for them to get through. They would poke their little heads through when I was trying to shoo them out but couldn't get their bodies through. We'd never seen Chiffchaffs before so it was worth losing some of the fruit to get a sight of them :rotfl:

It was a year ago Thursday that we moved to The Shire  And what a year it's been - the worst winter, the best summer, the dog, the barn, the annex. There's still work to do but I'm very happy with what we've accomplished so far.
Quotes are in now for the barn drainage works and electrics. We have enough saved to get both done but have decided to postpone graveling the drive in favour of getting a new gate. Not enough in the kitty though for that so we'll need to save up.
I think I need to tighten my grip a little on a couple of things. We could be doing a bit better with the finances - I've been counting the pounds but not the pennies. And we have both put on weight  More than I'm comfortable with. A little more discipline is required.
Mr F is away all this week so I shall plan a couple of days out of the house and get on top of some chores. Today is a day at home as I'm waiting for the new garden furniture to be delivered
Right, I'm off to reconcile the accounts and make a salad lunch
Happy Monday all
