Change of Plan
We were due to pick up our staddle stone this morning but it's sooooooo wet and windy I'm going to phone the centre and tell them we'll pick up later in the week. It will be difficult enough to move it without the further challenge of torrential rain 😲 Might even see if they can deliver.
I ordered the materials I need to make a Christmas wreath and presents for the neighbours last night. Once my art nook is set up I'll be able to get started on those.
Mr F got his cooked breakfast this morning. He has a (minimum) four hour work journey ahead of him today so he needed a good start. There may be delays as well due to the weather so I'll make him a sandwich to take with him.
I'm planning to do some Christmas cooking this afternoon - mincemeat and soda bread probably. Time is ticking on and I need to get the freezer filled so I don't end up cooking the entire festive break. A rainy Sunday afternoon without Mr F is the perfect time to get on with it.
Hope you're all weather-proof today guys.

It was nice @VintageHistorian - without Mr F loitering ready to do the quality control 😆Staffordia said:Hope FDawg didn't wake you too early Fortune. FDawg wakes us every morning 10 minutes before the alarm goes off 🙄 It'll be 5.50 am for me too for the next few days until he gets used to the time change.savingholmes said:Your purchases sound lovely. Please share piccies of your wreath when done. I think they can often look stunning.
Thank you @savingholmes. I made a wreath from foliage from the garden last year and it turned out quite well. This year I'm hoping to include feathers I've been collecting from the garden and our walks.

Another Change of Plan 😆
There was a break in the weather yesterday so we decided to pick up the staddle stone after all. It wasn't as heavy as we thought so Mr F managed to move it himself and it's now in its new home at the front of the house 😁 Happy Christmas us! 😆
I helped Mr F pack, made him a lunch to take with him and waved him off 🙁 Neither of us want him to travel any more 🙁 He's speaking at a big conference and I'm worried about the Covid risk 🙁 He got to the hotel safely though, although it took a hour longer than it should because of the dire weather.
I shall have a look around the house today to check for leaks and damage. The wind dropped last night so at least it didn't keep me awake all night.
After Mr F left I had a tidy up of the house and made some mincemeat - thank you Mary B£rry for your delicious recipe 😉 I had to jar it quickly to stop me from eating it all 😆 I didn't get round to making the soda bread so will probably do that today. I did do my Christmas menu plan though and feel much less stressed about all the cooking. There's a lot I can prepare in advance and freeze.
Young Decorator will be here again this week but should be finished by Friday. I can't wait as I want to set up my art nook and start painting 🥳
I've a busy day planned today and there's a WI Committee meeting this evening (if I can get there through the flooding). First I need to walk FDawg before it starts raining again.
See you later

Hope you both have a good evening even if you are apart. Probably as well you have some company with the young decorator. Enjoy your WI meeting too. Hope the flooding doesn't stop your plans.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ooh, you're so organised doing your Christmas meal plan! I'm very impressed. Yay to having the decorating finished! Is this all of it now, or is there still another room to do?
Hope you didn't get too wet with FDawg earlier... and fingers crossed Mr F stays safe x3
